I know everyone involved doesn't need the background story, but if someone is coming into this thread fresh, they might benefit from a little background story.

The first official Zombie Apocalypse Training Camp was held back in the spring of 2011. We have since moved it to the fall where it has become the annual motorcycle and camping event not to be missed. It started at one of our weekly pub crawls when Newner asks if we'd be interested in a primitive camping/riding/shooting weekend full of ridiculous competitions. We're all in. We've mixed up the competitions throughout the years, but they all have some connection to surviving the Zombie Apocalypse (well . . . mostly). We have the "Gates of Hell" trials course, the "Devil's Triangle" barrel race, slow races, drag races, wheelie competitions, hill climbs, and everyone's favorite, the "Rally of the Dead" enduro course.

Mornings consist of hangovers, strong coffee, and a breakfast feast. Afternoons are for working, riding, shooting, and mild alcohol abuse. Evenings are reserved for the massive bbq feast, full-on alcohol abuse, and the related campfire shenanigans that come along with it.

Due to the high danger aspect of mixing dirt bikes, guns, and alcohol, we keep it to a pretty small core group who (almost) always have safety as our primary concern. We have had very few incidents over the years all things considered. We had one Zombie Camp virgin this year and he did pretty good. One small violation, but we will let it slip since he seemed to understand the error of his ways, while our older and should-be-wiser two-time offender is treading on thin ice.

As always, I had the time of my life. Every year only gets better. Yes, we missed the work/prep weekend this year due to weather that made things a little more difficult during the event, but we still pulled it off spectacularly, in my opinion anyway.

A huge thank you to everyone involved with a special thanks to the Newner clan for once again putting up with us and our group of Zombie fighting land pirates.

Let's not forget to thank Steve as well for always providing copious amounts of "delicious homemade hangover inducing libations". Once the Zombie Apocalypse hits and the liquer is all gone. I know where to go for my fix. Your brewcraft improves every year...
