Glad to hear it was worth the PITA installation!
Thank you, yes, I think it was.
I was doing some thinking.
It would have been better if Healtech would have based the cutoff times on gear selection rather than RPM.
For example, a different cutoff time could be assigned to the 1-2 shift than the 5-6 shift.
The way it is, if you shift at 6000 RPM, it's using the same cutoff time for all shifts. The shifts in lower gears need a longer cutoff time.
Healtech makes a gear selection indicator so it has the technology to determine what gear you're in.
It would be sweet if they incorporated a gear position indicator into the quick shifter.
The 2022 Honda CB500F now has an upside down fork as well as the CBR500R, and the CB500X.
It looks a lot better but it's too bad they didn't give it the Neo Cafe Sports treatment and name it CB500R.
I'm not tempted to trade up.
I hadn't seen a Triumph Trident in the flesh, which I thought was odd, here in SoCal you see everything.
Alex and I rode bicycles over to the local Triumph dealer to have a look. Now I know why I haven't seen one on the road. They were marked up to $11k including $995 freight.
They are also an Aprilia dealer. A Tuono 660 was around $12k including freight.
The Trident is nice but the Tuono blows it away for only around $1k more.
I liked the silver and red.
The triumph is looking like it's going to be a nice bike for $8,000 (retail)but not $11,000-sometimes you just want to grab the dealer by the throat and ask what's up
I told the salesman that the trouble with selling a $8000 bike for $11000 was that it puts it into competition with $11,000 bikes which are better equipped, like the Tuono 660.
Yes the new Triumph looks great. I contacted a dealer before they were available and got my name on the list for one. Then the more I thought about it, the more I decided I really wanted the CB300R, which I what I got last April. No looking back, especially since I traded my 08 Triumph Tiger for it! I just decided I was tire of big and heavy. I closely looked at a BMW G310R also. Nice bike, but I decided the CB300R checked all the right boxes for me. YMMV.
Hey, as long as they mark those bikes up too, they still don't have to compete with each other!
I hate dealerships that play the mark-up game, but I have to guess that they keep doing it because it works in at least some cases.
But the Tuono, an $11000 bike was only $1000 more. BMW doesn't permit markups.
Can you please explain better how you acomplished this and, if possible, post some pictures of the end result?
I was looking yesterday to my license plate holder and I think that I might come across some tyre/holder contact, in case on rear suspension over compression.
makes the over priced Honda CB650R a deal and I'm sure more refined
I don't do pictures--but it's very easy under the fender there is one screw chrome)holding the fender side piece on than undue the four Philip screws(black) holding the licence plate holder on you will now see three sets of holds side up the licence plate holder and resemble the four black screws-that's it- 50mm shorter-put a few miles since and the fender has never hit the rear wheel
Thanks for the reply.
But did you had to discard the black plastic "wings" that are before the license plate holder?
On my tail I have that holes covered by the plastic "wings"
That's what I was told by a long time BMW customer. He's bought lots of them, never keeps a bike more than 2-3 years, always has at least 2 bikes in the garage.
I just purchased a 2019 CB300R in black to join my little fleet. I want to put a USB power socket on it, has anybody done this or has anybody found a wiring diagram for the CB300R.
I have found one for the CBR300R, but I doubt that that will be much use :)
Welcome to the club. I haven't tried to install a USB.
You couldn't just use a SAE to USB adapter for your charge cable?
Thanks @strongbad & @AwDang, I have the USB power outlet already in stock, I want to wire it via the ignition switch so it is only live when ignition is on, they have a parasitic draw that will discharge the battery DAMHIK!
