Dont know about you guys, but I'm looking forward to seeing King Kenny back on top. :queenie....He's been getting progressively better, and even though it seems a tall order right now to beat ET straight up on a good day. You never know.:nod

K-Roc's climb back to the top is amazing... impressive... against all odds/adversity type of "feel good" story.

I've said it before - but I never expected him to get back to (near) where he was... and he has shown that he still has the speed (if not - quite - yet the endurance/tenacity) to hang at the very front of the pack in a full blooded motorcross heat...

On a SX track, with another off season under his belt, by the time A1 comes around - he should be right on the pace I imagine...

Unfortunately though... I can't help but think about a prizefighter with a "glass jaw" (his wrist/arm). In the heat of battle, bar to bar with guys like Tomac, Barcia, Andersson... one hard down could end in ruin...

... and watching ken on the track in a couple of instances this season (coming hard into a turn with a competitor) where he "backed off" and surrendered the corner*... I can't help wonder if it is not in the back of his mind also?

    * The K'Roc of old would never have done so.

I hope that all goes well for Kenny... he has had his fair share of injury/medical battles... a hard profession he has chosen to follow - it is his choice though I guess? :thumbup

Exactly what I was thinking when he first came back. He's lost the fearlessness of youth. That painful rehab will always be in the back of his mind....Well, time will tell.

Lol. I get it. Though my old hippie dad did learn me to listen to the reckless tunes of Black Sabbath. Now my heads spins around Meshuggah(Umeå of all places in the world), Opeth and the like. He taught me well.
I thought of the 450 rookie. Obsorne(had to google)...

I’m about 1.5 miles from that dealer, nice people there when I was shopping for a car, they didn’t have what I wanted, and weren’t stoked to do a dealer trade for a Fit, so I bought elsewhere, but nice folks none the less

He seems like a really nice guy and watching him gut out a win last year when he had the flu made me a fan of his. I hope he can run up front with the big boys this year, I think some podium finishes are a good possibility for him.

    Rest of track maps released.

Phoenix racing, running Hondas, looks like they will have Bogle, Cunningham, probably Lamay and another rider.

Good to hear Bogle has a ride. Maybe not a championship contender but should always be a top 10 guy, sometimes top 5.

To line up and pull holeshot after holeshot,or top 3 starts, right off the bat....Roczen is good at turning his brain off and pinning it.
He looked pretty damn fearless as soon as he came back from injury to me. Its been a matter of getting his body back up to snuff. SX is mostly timing not extreme endurance.

As long as the whoops dont get the best of him I think he will be right in there.

Who thought it would come down to Honda, and others, copying KTM? Magic button, hydraulic clutch for some asian bikes, still with wimpy alu clutch basket. And marketing ploys with the "works" edition. Gotta start somewhere. Still kinda heavy.

Anybody really know how much Tomac got of the million at the Monster Energy Cup? What percent goes to the team?
What are the payouts to the riders for Supercross wins?

That's Feld purse. Add in probably $2500-$5000 for heat race wins, and probably $100k per race win, and yeah, he makes a pretty penny. Most championship bonuses are in the $1mil+ territory.

Most factory riders even have a LCQ win bonus of like $1500.

Tomac probably got the full $1million, plus maybe a small incentive from the team. Taxes withheld, he probably took home approx $600k for the weekend.

Not a bad pay day for 3 races.

What is hidden in those details is the purse has not changed in about...18 years. The $12000 in 1990 money certainly different than 2018 money.

    Who copied who ?
    Liquid cooling
    Disc brakes
    Linkage rear suspension
    Four stroke MX bikes
    Fuel injection
    Chain drive on proper side

Nope . KTM copied it all . Even the "works/factory replica".

"In 1978, that attitude changed with the introduction of Kawasaki’s first official “works-replica”, the ultra-trick KX250 A-4. The A-4 tipped the scales at a featherweight 206 pounds and pumped out a rip-snorting 40 horsepower (claimed) from its 249cc’s. "

That gas tank and seat alone probably was 206 pounds.
