It has been 5 years since our last train out to Colorado. Most are out of prison now and want to go back :D

Last time was great fun for all. Colorado has something for everyone so come have fun. The basic idea is to try and group folks together to make a trip like this financially feasible for most as well as a big fun bang for the buck.

Great memories and great new friends. So you get the idea.

    Where: Kremmling, Colorado

Why there? :dunno A couple of reasons brought us to this place. 1st we have not ridden this area, so it is how we roll. :loco 2nd, we have a CADS member with a place not far from here that we can use for parties if necessary. 3rd it is waaay off the tourist destinations (meaning inexpensive lodging).

Lodging - We have 15 rooms reserved for our group at the Allington Inn and Suites- each room has 2 queen beds. Price $89 plus tax per night. 2 up is $45 a night; or 4 up is $23 a night - ("Hey what happens in Kremmling stays in Kremmling :drink)

Dates: September 7th, - 14th, 2019 - Why then?- Because it is off the big season and the leaves begin to change.

If you want a room reserved for you and your "gang" PM me and I will put you on the list.

We will try and organize trailers for those that must fly. Please post up if you can provide a trailer out and back. We will be trying our best to split cost for those trailering out bikes.

Last train took 6 trailers with an average of 3 bikes per trailer. This is a little fluid as we need enough trailers to make this work.

Cost; Estimate room split with one other $350 for the week. Gas for trucks about $350 round trip per bike. (Last time my truck was closer to $200 a bike).

Options A) Put bike on a trailer and fly out to Co
    B) Pull a trailer out to Co
    C) Ride in a truck that is pulling a trailer out to Co.

I will post up Trailers and rooms as we get commitments

Be patient regarding which trailer you will be on. I am still in the midst of finding folks going with trailers. We had 2 more potential folks at last nights meeting trying to arrange to go and would be pulling trailers. However they still have to clear hurdles with Bosses (wives :D) etc . Last time we did this the trailer part was still shuffling the week we were leaving. As we get closer we will be able to start narrowing down which trailer your bike will be on and how to coordinate getting your bike to trailers. Right now our main need is to get the rooms locked down and who is going.

If you are thinking about doing this trip post up you want to go. As we get to the lift off date, bailing out is not as difficult to deal with as adding you once all the trailers are full.

    Hello Rich,

We can use my Kendon 3 rail trailer. It can haul 3 dirt bikes.

I'm in! :) This'll be another great CADS trip! Nick and I will share a room and get a rental car we can share. We can carry others if the plane flight times correlate. We'll book flights later on. T

Rich, are we thinking the first day of riding being Saturday? If so then I'll fly in on Friday and stay the night at the hotel. Sorry I know I over-think things :)

The Plan is for everyone flying to come in on Saturday and fly out at the end of the week on Saturday. Trying to keep it simple with time off from work for most. Those running the trailers will have to leave a day or 2 early depending on night driving capabilities. Trailers will leave to return either Friday evening or Saturday morning at the end of the week.

Good point on Todd's fuel tank, you can ride all day in Colorado w/o seeing a gas station.

Im in! As you can see by my picture, I have Colorado Tags and moved to Florida a year ago. Missing it out there as I did the CoBDR in 2017. I am in Englewood Fla (South of Sarasota). I elect to fly out and back. Where will I have to drop off my bike? Anyone passing thru from SW Fla?

MUST SEE: Aspen Ridge between Salida and Buena Vista. The Aspens will be RIPE with yellow on an amazing trail in September.

And look up 4 Mile Area just North of Buena Vista. Also to the NW of Buena Vista look up Hagerman Pass from Leadville West. That is then followed by an amazing trail (part of the CoBDR) to Aspen.

Also a ghost town called St Elmo West of Salida, and is the entry to Tincup Pass

Just try not to be 'the guy' your group has to wait for every 60 miles to dick around with your range issues, small bike group etiquette minimum is 120 - 150 miles out west, solo you'll want at least a 250 mi range.

We rode all over that area on the last WT, the first photo above of the group was on Aspen Ridge. The boys have been listening and we're going in September this year instead of July and heading to a different spot because it is different and has less tourists. I rode/drove around the area a few years ago in September looking at big bike routes, there's some real purty stuff, will post up some pics soon.
