Just read an article in Peru about the Culture Ministry and the Dakar 2019. http://aygun.press/drones-inspeccionaran-la-ruta-del-rally-dakar-2019/ They are pre-flying the whole route with programmed drones to make sure there are no fossil or archaeology sensitive areas. They say they already have the route info for the first part. Must be GPX files. Could SS01 to SS03 already be done? Could they be very similar to 2018? Maybe Xavier is just refreshing the old notes and that is why they are out for the interview......
I figure this is the best place to post info for those who are racing Dakar 2019 and need a place to stay in Lima. It is 3-stars, but I have negotiated special rates for you! No, I don't get a cut and my tour is already full so I'm not looking for business. Just thot it would be special to help the privateer teams! Great location close to the coast and the action!!
It's going to be a party! We have requisitioned the municipality to close the street of our whole block in front of our Lima hotel (Jan 3 to 7) to prep vehicles. Now up to (4) moto teams, (1) Quad team, and (1) Car team!
Don't miss your opportunity to support an incredible Dakar 2019 moto privateer in her first attempt !! https://advrider.com/f/threads/the-bivouac-general-rallye-raid-news.543325/page-458 (bottom of the page).
Anyone knows when ASO officially announces next Dakar held at Africa or America? My friend is actually prepping 2020. Last May new is the only viable source regarding "may be return to Africa". If guys here happen to bump to ASO people in Lima, appreciated any rumors!

Anyone have information/access for spectating the Dakar? I'll be traveling thru Peru towards Ushuaia while the Dakar is underway and would like to check out some of the stages. (But I have no interest in being 10 deep with the general public.) I've found very little information on the official site. Thanks in advance.
