One problem with adding a stereo to the Police model is that they are not pre-wired for stereo like the EGS is. Biketronics has a solution for this and there may be other vendors as well.

Having installed a single din Sony on my EGS before I traded up to the SG I know that adding the radio hand controls to an EGS and aftermarket radio install does allow for control of some functions. Look to Volunteer Audio, Biketronics or Fathead cycles for different levels of pre assembled kits.

@relayer4u , I saw fathead and biketronics; biketronics seems like a bit more comprehensive kit and I do not think the police model will allow for the double DIN head unit. I may consider the inner fairing from an FLHTK or something of the sort....

For the 650ish mile ride it was great. Soaked up lots of bumps, and knocked the edge off the big hits as well. I put it on to try it out with the taller windscreen. I still find myself leaning with the stock handle bars. Short rides it is not a issue. With longer ones my wrists were not happy.
While I was out yesterday, some tall boy handle bars arrived, so I will be looking at getting them installed over the next few days.
What ever you do don't put your finger between the bump stop and the motorcycle frame to check to see if it is working when youre going down the road.
If you're rocken stock bars and windscreen and want to stay that way, I would not recommend the police seat. If you're ready to change up the bike some then yes.

How much you weigh with gear n all? How many threads do you preload yours. And when you look at it are you counting from the lock nut up or how?
Right now I have the preload pretty light. I tip the scales at 240 geared up at 5'10". Not a light weight LOL

I used Biketronics for my 2017 Police bike. They make up the harness and it is a plug and play install. The adapter plate is aluminum and a quality piece. The instructions are good and if there are any issues they will talk you through it over the phone. Great company to deal with.

The top of the locknut is about 8 mm below the top/start of the threads.

Just came inside from mounting up the Tall Boy handlebars. I'll get some pictures after I clean up the bike a little and a quick ride to test. something to note, the handle bar risers do not match up with the notches in the fairing. Just a little wide. I also didn't have to use a wiring harness extension. Which means that I need to cancel that order.

Installed a little screen in the fairing vent. Maybe this will keep that last little bit of bug guts getting through the little vent.

Oh and full disclosure it is a Custom Dynamics piece. Took like 5 min to install.

The Tallboy bars required different risers? Is the clamp diameter different or something? I thought the Tallboy bars, at least the ones I looked at for the Road King, were 1" diameter. Maybe there's a difference for the fairing bikes.

Sorry, I guess risers is the wrong word. Where the bar bends from the horizontal plane up is a touch wider is what I meant by riser.
