Can't wait to see the full specs and pics of the new one.
Well, I can't wait to see it. :) In all honesty, TC and ABS (off road mode) on 1090 Adv R is making a better rider out of me (yes, that is saying something about my riding skills ).
I guess frame will be same as the one used for H701. As rear fork, foot peg assembly, shifter, rear brake pedal etc.
I really hope it will be launched this winter/spring. 1090 is fantastic, but I miss my 690. Time to expand orange family.
So what would be a great deal on a leftover 2018?
I bought an '18 for about $1300 off of retail price, the dealer told me it was a KTM to dealer rebate
I am anxiously awaiting full specs on the 2019! Hopefully the fuel capacity has increased by a few liters.
Cheap I hope considering its a 2014 model bike

Saw a couple of dealers on Cycle Trader at $7899. Supposed to be a big dealer rebate going on.....
Yeah! That makes it ONLY 25 years newer than any other current 650 single for sale new!
So your argument is 'Its not as bad as others?'
I cant for the life of me understand why someone would buy an 18 690 over a 701 as the 701 is such an advancement on the old 2014 design. If if you can get one for 2/3ds the price or better and you just want to plonk around then it would be fine.
Or i guess if your the kind of person who has a ktm sticker on the back of your car and a KTM coffee cup at you job in IT then i understand too.
Who cares if you understand?
Don't worry, I won't tell him you ride a Husky or that we excommunicated you from the Orange Brigade.
I dont even hazz a sticker!
10,400 out the door is the best I have seen on the 2018 model- Going to hold out for the 2019- Hoping to get a release in-market date soon.
$7899 Scottsdale, AZ and Redondo Beach, CA. Got to be other dealers too. Don't know about fees and tax to arrive at OTD...
There's the looks to considers, and a proper dash on the KTM. And the cost. When I picked up my 690, the Husky dealers wouldn't bugde on the price of the 701. They were itching to move the 690s. And with the balanced 690 engine, I'm rather pleased with it over the 701. Buy hey, YMMV.
Disclaimer: I have not one but two KTM coffee cups and a sticker on the back of my truck... though I don't work in IT.
Sale price really does NOT matter- OTD does which will incude any set-up/freight and other dealer add ons which can be enormous
Some are saying the "proper" dash of the 690 is getting replaced with the basic 701 display....
Gross. That seemed like such a cheap-out to me. Sure, someone will argue, "well I never look at the dash when I'm riding." Fine, but it's nice to have, especially for a large dual sport or mini ADV bike.
