But did they make it turn sharper and spread out the gears? If they would do that I would consider this bike again as long as the suspension wasn't still as stiff as the seat!

FWIW I thought my 2017 701 E put a big damper on the negative feel of the close ratio gearbox compared to a previous gen bike via the new engine characteristics. It still didn't feel perfect but it was getting there, 3rd gear was a dream. I'd imagine theres unfortunately a very small chance they'd change the gearbox though and I'd love to hear otherwise...

BUT if theres any hope either of those things will be changed, it does look like the steering head angle on the new 690 is 62.3* vs a 63* on the current 701. So theres a chance that the chassis isnt 100% a repainted white one and therefore could have a better turning radius. And if thats true, maybe the gearbox could have been slightly tweaked too? Possibly just dreaming here though, apparently we'll find out at the "press launch coming up in January" according to ADV Pulse.

+1 on the seat - Spoke to seat concepts and they mentioned how fragile the stock seat frame was, now with the granite version it should be rock solid - no pun intended.

Is it the same seat as the 701, I’m planning to add a radegarage aux tank and the 701 has an exposed filler, the Ktm needs to remove the seat to fill

What makes you think that you need to remove the seat to fill the tank?

Not the stock tank, the radegarage tank that fits where the air cleaner is

Bummer about the gear ratios. I can't justify splitting cases and $3k just to get a new bike adapted for DS riding.
