It isn't all that difficult to do ride-now-pay-later documentation stuff... The dealer you dealt with was acting up drama-queen - they're not the only one w that bike...

If you really need the bike that fast, a local dealer to me in IL has couple of GSs on the floor and is motivated to move them outta dealership (HP Motorsport w sport suspension, same without, Exclusive etc)…

Feel free to pm me for contact info and you can deal with the rest - I'm not affiliated with them in any shape or form but they're good peeps to deal with... :deal

Hi, I am assuming the black Vario cases are not the standard R1250GS parts but assuming from another model 850GS? could you provide the part number as I think they look great? Mark

Wrong assumption. The vario cases are available as an accessory in black or the commoner aluminum face. From the U.S. Motorrad site:

    Cheers!

You order it with them it’s an option. My dealer switched my cast ones out with the gold spoke ones

It looks like Build-your-own page doesn't allow for wire spoked wheel option selection on any color GS except HP Motorsport where it comes w sport suspension? :dunno

It came with spoked wheels. I actually wanted cast and my dealer was willing to swap them out, but I decided to stay with the spoked wheels for resale value. Although, now that I’ve got it, I may never sell it!

Your Vario cases look way better in black.

Spokes are a $500 option on a GSW. I've haven't seen a watercooled GS come into my dealer without spokes. For 2020 the GS can be ordered with black or gold wheels.

Hey guys just hit the 600 mile mark on the 1250. Did maintenance myself. Is there anyway I can reset the service reminder myself??

Yes, with a GS911 or a Motoscan tool.

Just looked those up. Gs911 seems like too much for what I’ll need. The motoscan was only in German so idk what it does. Also looks like I’ll need an obd2 reader and cable? Any part numbers or certain ones?

I know that but nowhere does build-your-own allow you to check the option for wire spoked wheels except if you choose HP Sport suspension option?! Let alone to allow you to choose Goldilocks or Black rimz… :dunno

Unfortunately I only use the GS911, so no numbers on the Motoscan.

Yes the BMW build your own website has been total crap since it's introduction.

Service reminder is set during 600mi service by the dealer - if you did that by yourself you've got nothing to "reset" as nothing was set... At least that what it was back in the day on my '16 - I doubt that has changed but it may have been... Consider yourself lucky - no further service reminders for ya!! :clap
