    Happy Thanksgiving.........

Just let me say that food truck breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

When they ran out of breakfast at the truck, found this place on a one-way street in town:

Only drawback is that they are closed Sunday!

Thought the food was excellent and the owners were bike-friendly. DSCN1422.JPG

That is where we all had breakfast for Camp N Ride years 1 and 2 (and maybe even 3). That place had everyone talking if you go back and read the year 1 Camp N Ride thread. Trevor (DCStrom), the original organizer of the Romney Cycles Camp N Ride event, was quite smitten with a waitress there. His admiration was justified.

It's a great place. Very friendly and excellent breakfast. Last I knew, they only take cash. It can be a bit of a tight fit. We adventure riders in our big bulky gear and helmets can really fill up that place. Recommend it highly.

I don't believe we've ever had Sunday breakfast on site at Romney Cycles. I know in years past there has been a pancake breakfast at the VFW or some club in Romney. Our riders have always been welcomed there.

From a weather perspective late September is nice. Avg highs in the 70's, lows in the 50's, and avg rainfall in late September is less than in the springtime. On the flip side early season events tend to draw a good crowd if the forecast is tolerable because everyone is itching to ride. ;)

Seems like you are over-thinking this. Maybe not a food truck, but a local diner may be able to hook you up?

Old Gezzer and I have taken in the VFW (back in town, left at the light...I think, sign directing you to the door) breakfast for the past 3 years and it’s great. All you can eat, nice folks, and donation if I remember correctly.

I am going to keep my eye on this thread.

Below is scheduled for June, not that I am going to it but the national is usually a big draw.

2019 BMW MOA Rally will be held in Lebanon, Tennessee, June 13-16, 2019.

Wellll - We have 16 votes each for the traditional weekend before Mother's Day and the weekend after Memorial Day, which would be June 1-3. People have been pretty vocal about not holding Romney in the July/August heat of summer and the polling reflects that. Dirt Dad and I have also had questions about having Romney in the Fall and we are open to it, as are the folks at the dealership.

Getting a food vendor on site for breakfasts is still a challenge for any of the three weekends still in discussion. Not saying it won't happen, but odds are not good right now. Since there is so much close up-town, it shouldn't be a huge problem. btw - If you haven't tried the VFW breakfast it's pretty good.

We are down to three weekends. Looking at competing events already scheduled or when they took place in 2018 puts the least competition on Labor Day weekend. Our first years at Romney were great weather and this year the weekend before Mother's Day is actually in May, so hopefully we can get a year of good weather again. Holiday weekends are two-sided swords, in that it lets people travel farther or relax, versus many have family commitments.

So here's a mini-poll for those three dates: Simply post which one of the three you prefer:
May 3-5 (Traditional Romney date of weekend before Mother's Day)
May 31-June 2 (is after Memorial Day Monday)
Aug 30-Sep 1 (is Labor Day weekend)

fwiw, To see part of how we got here, below is the list of competing events for all of our time that was mentioned above. We pulled together the ADVRider threads and other known events of 2018 and those already announced for 2019. The events ending with a period are announced 2019 dates and those ending with question marks were 2018 dates, so we don't know their 2019 dates. If any of you have corrections to this list, just post them with your vote and I'll update this post.

I know the weather hasn't been the best the past couple years. To me switching dates to try to guess the weather is senseless.Stick with the traditional date because I'm guessing it will be sunny..

fwiw - DD and I are partial to the traditional date too, but don't have strong feelings about it and want to go with what the consensus says.
