Home Yesterday after stops at Tamworth & Medowie to visit family. Will post pics later. Well Done everyone - Another Fantastic Scrapheap Adventure Ride. Pezz - you are a legend! Great Work to Ryan & the team at DS, Craig, Marie & the team at Evans Head - (we have to hold him to it to show up next year!) Warren & Don, Steve, Etc. Loved every minute of it. What a great cause & amazing result for the fundraising for DSNSW. Thanks everyone it was great to catch up.
Blew the crank all over the Bells line of road Still heartbroken..... The one car I will always miss...
I didn’t get a ride this year , but my bike managed to get to the gig. Unfortunately it hasn’t gotten home yet, it’s in some blokes shed up Willow Tree way. It decided to eat the Cush drive rubbers according to brother Russ. I got there too for a short time , great to see everyone again , and congrats to you all for making another weekend trip so worthwhile for Down Syndrome NSW. Thanks again to Pezz for all the organising. I’ll definitely be riding next year Graham
I was a bit annoyed I could only stay for one beer with Bill before I had to head home, I really wanted to stick around but I had double booked myself (or more accurately my wife had). It was good to catch up with a few people and meet some new ones. F111 museum was worth the visit as well. As soon as I got home and was talking about it the wife said "I suppose this means you are going next year." I'm pretty keen, but we will see as it gets closer.
Nice vid DOT, I remember you passing me (on my postie), but I didn't think it was that easy! Thanks everyone for a great weekend, was a hooooot - bigger group from Tamworth for sure next year. A couple of pics from the "Show n Grime"
The bulk of Team Oldslow got home (mostly) earlier this week after a fantastic SAR again. I’d like to say how much I enjoy this ride every year and it’s mostly thanks to Pez who does an awesome job time and time again! We’ll be back again next year bigger and better (?) probably with a new name and a bit more organisation!
HI All Absolutely great ride and weekend. I loved the ride and being in the group with all the riders and support was the best yet. Below is a summary of the three days of riding with a link to a MAP of the routes we took. You can also load a GPS file of the route from the link. Now all I need to do is a very long list of repairs on the bike so it's ready for next year. Cheers, Peter Name: ............... SAR 2019 – Day 1............... SAR 2019 – Day 2............... Team Olddog is safely back in Kalgoorlie! Just rolled into town a little while ago and i gotta say, after approx 13000kms total, we're a little buggered. It was a great adventure and another great Scrapheap ride, awesome to catch up with all my old scrapper mates too. But now its time for a cuppa and a spell :)
I thought the Cush drive rubbers on the Freewind were buggered until this became obvious. Bearing in the Cush drive ate itself , chewed the spacer up a bit but luckily no other damage. It shall return, not looking like this anymore though. Graham
600,000ks is pretty good though, sold my D2 at 321,000ks thinking that was good, have a D4 also now, still miss the D2.
Yeah as a vehicle I can’t fault the D4 however doesn’t have the character of the D1 Bit like modern GS’s compared to the old G/S. Better in every way but a little lacking in character for me
