The Rally model could be a great buy for those who want the optional exhaust and the PP suspension currently available from the Powerparts catalog IF KTM prices the bike less the cost of the stock suspension and exhaust on the "R" model. If they do this it might only tack a couple of thousand USD onto the price of an R which in reality would be a bargain for those that want the suspension & exhaust upgrade.

My guess is that KTM will sell it at a much higher premium though... time will tell.

Seems like you could get a 790R Rally for less $$$ by going the Wings + Konflict route.

Seems like KTM is using the Porsche business model. Build a limited edition, throw a few bits on, and jack the price way up. Let's see what the price is before I pass full judgement.

The 18 seems pretty close to what i'm thinking as well, especially being in an ELITE club of ONLY 500 SE bikes! But we'll know in the coming months/who knows when? Again i'm in no hurry now as first year bikes/cars/boats/etc. will all have teething issues (Im sure there are other forums as well whining about where is my bike, GREATEST thing since sliced bread etc) only a select few but the majority will be perfect out of the box! Really curious as to how many were actually produced for 2019?

I guess it on paper will be far, far superior to the Tenere 700, weather or not the vast majority of the readers here would know the real differeence in the riding I am not so sure. Bikes at this level as far as the majority are concerned are as much status and feeling good about yourself as anything, nothing wrong with that as I am the same but have slightly different requirements given my intended location. Only 500 KTM marketing got to love them, got to wonder however whats coming next.
