We only get the base which uses inner tubes or the dolled up AS with tubeless, large tank, and expensive electronic suspension. Other markets have a less expensive AS without electronic suspension available, wish we did because that's the one I'd want.

All the reviews of the ES make be want that bike. My '17 is too new and it would cost me a bunch to change bikes, so I am unlikely to change bikes unless I come into some money. I'd really love an ATAS ES DCT though, it would be like my '17 AT - only better.

Here, but lost. Am I lost if i know i'm here?
It's only kicked in once for me, and I was riding off a curb when it happened. I ride like a grandma.

It kicked in on me on the first mile I got the bike:lol3:D. It was a sunny dry day and I opened it up to feel the bike. You know the rest:D

Had a 17 and now a 18 ATAS, the TC works much better off road on the 18, smoother and less intrusive, but still have to dial it way down to not notice it working. At little late but hope this helps.

    I'm curious too.
I am hoping that they did this rather than adding a few more levels into a basic package.
We don't know to what extent Honda revised the TC for sure, but if someone can look at the new wiring diag. they can figure it out.
Until then, we can only rely on "feelings" which I believe is unreliable.
Still, I will be happy to add/post my own "feelings" about it when I take delivery of a 2019 DCT later in the month :)

Can you link to a source of that information? It makes sense that they would,
but big H has surprised us too many times - adding TBW without CC until now :)
I haven't seen anything that specific about HSTC anywhere.
What I read about the HSTC is that it is via spark ignition control not fuel cuts.

The 2019 won't be very different from yours. The IMU on the 2020 should be the game-changer in how the TC and next-gen DCT operate.

I can understand the temptation of a discounted 2019, but the resale value will also be low now that the 2020 is out with all its new tech.

Well, I tell myself I will never sell my AT; works everytime! (2x) :)
Agree with you about the IMU; it's like adding another brain into an already smart system.

If I new that my fantastic Ohlins suspension can be swapped from my beloved AT'16 DCT to 2020 ATAS- I would run to dealership. But nobody can answer my question :-(

This is from a Spanish forum, but the screen shots are in english. This was the Honda official press release for the 2018 model.
It's confusing, cause in the graphic they say "fuel cuts", but in the text below they say "ECU cuts ignition".
BTW, 2018 model HTCS is TBW graduated, and the "cuts" (fuel or ignition) are suposed to be more subtle.

Thanks for clarifying @Quercus petraea .
That makes a whole lot more sense.
No wonder 2018+ models have better HSTC! :thumbup:thumbup

I assumed they just added a few more levels...
    This is HI Tech :)

What was the problem with the tft screen and the horizontal bar flashing over and over? Surely this is not their intention?

That is probably an artifact of the video -- if the refresh rate of the TFT screen is similar to the frame rate/scan rate of the digital camera (like a GoPro) you'll get flashing/strobing of the screen in the video. You won't see it in real life. You'll sometimes see this on news reports with TVs in the background, etc.
