I trailered to Spokane in 2017 and stored my car and trailer at ABC mini storage http://www.abcministorage.com/self_storage/north_spokane/zip_99218/abc_mini_storage/2965

This year I am riding parallel to I-10 / I-8 (see Aprils RR) to San Diego and this time turning north up the Pacific Coast to Port Angeles, WA.. Stashing my bike I will fly home for three weeks to take care of business. I will fly back and ride from there to Alaska and back to Florida. All on the bike this time.

    I turn 70 in 2019.

I am putting a GIVI Engine Guard on my NC750 with the same highway pegs on this bike. Also notice the mud flap.

These guys, albeit in a truck, tent camped in Galbraith Lake BLM Campground and skipped staying in Prudhoe Bay Hotel. Anyone know how the road construction to Prudhoe Bay was this year. Anyone know anything about next summer. If the weather is clear, I might want to add Dead Horse to my destinations. I definitely want to see Atigun Pass.

I bought a nemo bugout tarp / mozzie shelter to bring along.

That will work, there are many good ways to protect the shock.
My wife made a sleeve for one of my bikes that has Velcro to be able to put it on and take it off without removing the shock.

It is very similar to common ATV shock covers that are available everywhere.

What a difference a few percent drop in humidity makes. Took Rita II out for a ride today. Love her. I can see why people raise the front of the seat. I will mention it to Russell when they make a seat for me. I send the seat to California in four weeks for rebuild.

Managed to stop in the tax collector's office for a new plate today. I qualify for a handicap plate so I traded in mine from the dealer for the correct plate. Between my knees, hip and heart, some days I need to park in the handicap spot. However, I try not to if an empty spot is close. When I was at Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick I was saved by an open handicap parking spot. Only empty spaces were a couple hundred meters away and I was on my cane because of my hip. I also appreciated the ride down to the top of the stairs as well as lots of benches to rest on. My hip and knees have improved since returning home. Ate a ton of Tylenol that helped.

I found the meaning of diverticulitis this weekend the hard way. Real kick in the gut. ER visit with IV drugs followed by antibiotics and restricted diet. All is better. Now back to work on the bike. :-)

I had those little diverticulum pockets in my colon revealed years ago but never got infected. I have been eating blueberries and strawberries lately with my oatmeal. Now I remember they were on my avoidance foods list. At first I thought my kidney stones were back but it was not the same pain. Not as intense as a stone and not in the same location. Chris insisted I go to the ER to sort out the cause. Good thing. Two days after IV drugs and heavy oral antibiotics, I feel fine. I remember family folks telling me getting old was "fun" but who knew it was this fun.

    No kidding.
I just came back from a 400 km ride to Baskerville.
I recorded the tree colors and will try to get a video together.
Now my new knee is complaining and the shoulder on the replacement list is on fire.
Oh well I guess feeling pain means I am still alive
And it was a great ride.
They replaced 25 miles of rough pavement with some nice new smooth stuff.

Slowly upgrading Rita II. Added fender extender today. Replaced included two sided tape with Gorilla two sided tape. Then clamped it down to set up overnight.

Installed the taller (19.5 inch) GIVI windscreen today. Four screws. However, I had to replace two screws with the correct screws. And, I had to special order them and wait for them to come in. :-(

GIVI engine guards installed. What do the plastic GIVI name plates do? Until I find out they have a practical purpose, I would like not to install them.
