2018 Honda NC750XD ... So I buy a plug and play Denali Mini Soundblaster horn. Only problem is it blows the fuse. Not just the fuse to the horn but the fuse to nearly half of the bike including display. The dealer says the Denali draws too much current for the 7.5amp fuse? Also, I was looking at installing an accessory 12v plug and it takes a special sub-harness as well as special harness plug on the 12v socket. Now I need to install a battery tender plug to keep the battery charged in the garage. What kind of electrical system have I gotten myself into? Can I install the battery tender cable directly to the battery?

Wiring a battery tender cable is just like hooking up jumper cables...just connect the battery tender pigtail to the battery...I've done that to all my bikes...works perfect.

The battery tender cable usually has an in-line fuse so it is designed to connect directly to the battery. Typical cables have 7.5 Amp fuses. I have seen heavy duty tender cables that are rated for 15 Amp fuse.

    Looks fantastic! :clap

The skid plate, engine guard bars, wind screen, and seat are excellent for a ride to Alaska... and around the world. :thumb

    It sure looks pretty.
I will have to stay at least a half mile behind you on my old FJR.
Mine isn't pretty enough to ride beside yours.

    Looking great.
I have a skid plate on my Christmas list. Not holding my breath, but who knows.
When are you mounting those Tusk panniers? Sure would like to see a pic.

I'd put fork gators on to protect from rock dings. Will extend seal life, too.

    Excellent choice in bikes.

Use a relay to power the horn. The relay will get it's power direct from the battery to honk the horn when your stock horn circuit signals it... no blown fuses

Not a bad consideration. But I’m running low on my piggy bank with launch day only four months away.

I was just looking at some Triumph boots that someone claimed would fit. Anyone have experience with NC fork gators?

I went to NAPA, got RANCHO brand #RS1952 for my wee. It's fork tubes are about 43 mm.

New boots. Replacing my SIDI adventure boots. Almost went with mid-calf but decided on keeping shin protection. These weigh so much less than the SIDIs. They are comfortable to walk in out of the box. Also bought a new riding jacket made with RockTex, a Goretex like waterproof material. Had to go with Joe Rocket Atomic 5.0 for size considerations.

What size and jacket did you get?

Well that was a stupid question on my part as you have in your post the model of jacket.
You will look pretty sharp on your new bike
