A couple of uh ohs during shakedown but everyone is ok. Might be a long night wrenching for a few cars.

Not many bikes but several folks putting down some solid practice runs.

I have two more meetings this evening then I'm crawling in the truck and hitting the sack. Up early tomorrow morning.

Best of luck to those racing tomorrow. Weather and conditions seem prime.

what a great time! Bills class was awesome as usual the 5 guys that came with me all want to do it again and the race, they really had a blast. this was the first time i've ever been able to watch the race, every time ive been there i was racing so it was really cool to me just to be able to see the speeds.

Man i felt so bad for Harrison on that last stage, i was standing right there where his bike died on him probably not 4 miles from the finish line. He tried fixing it and it fired back up a couple times, but she was a no go.

I also have clips of a handful of other bikes, but the ghost of Steve Jobs is making it difficult to edit them on a PC...

Dude, you were putting down some solid runs all day. Well done.

I did notice almost every one that slowed way down especially in that deep, soft, sugar kissed the dirt at some point.

I took a lot of mental notes and watched a variety of riding styles. My biggest takeaway was you have to fully commit. Timid riders were slower and had trouble in some sections that other riders were rolling through.

That applies to the cars as well.

I had a great time volunteering. Long day Saturday. Lots of miles logged. Up at 530. I think I finally got in the sleeping bag at 1230. I know you folks racing must have been wiped out by the end.

    I hope this works.

I'm obviously not a filmer, editor or producer as seen from this poor excuse for a video. Hey! I was working. :nod

I wasn't able to get every bike or every car and the end is kinda screwed up time lapse wise.

Definitely looks better at full screen.

Hindsight I'm glad I spent the money and made the effort.

Looks like this was the last one for a while and happened just in time.

So I was looking over some stats from the Sandblast and noticed something. The average speed graph for Moto Heavy has a HUGE dip in it for everyone except the fastest rider, Harrison, in stage 4.

    2020-Sandblast-Rally-Atlantic-RallyMoto-Cup---Motorcycle-Heavy-Top-10-Speed-Delta.png

Then I note his average speed...78.4!!!!!!

    Conger was 70.7

    DAAAAAMMMMMMMNNNNNN!!!!!

I think it's very likely Harrison's time on Stage 4 was 6:50, NOT 5:50. More in line with the delta between him and other riders on the other stages.

Which would yield an average speed on stage 4 of 66.9 mph.

Yeah I talked to Harrison about this - that one was a flier (they gave him the wrong time). He would've had them correct it at the end of the day had he finished.

There was another stage (I forget which one) where he beat Bill though.

I finally got around to compiling all the spectator footage I got from my spectators. Not everyone got filmed though - sorry.
