@71Crummy get in here... this would be a nice LOCAL ride to meet some of the dudes that will be on the Best Of Montana route and see what works for chasing GPS tracks.

So there is this COVID19 thing going around.

Somebody asked if we’re still going to have the ride. I figure we’ll make that decision when we have to, maybe decide the at the end of May or first weekend in June.

Until then, I’ll just keep getting ready for the ride by doing GPS work and pre riding tracks and such.

If you keep this ride on the calendar, it might be the first event left to attend and it'll look like the Touratech rally! Prepare for 1,000! Just kidding, but there may be some add-ins, myself included, because my previous commitment was already canceled until 2021. I'm a solid "maybe" now! :D

Well it looks like we wont make it. I broke the KTM pretty bad during vacation. Chain took out the 3 bosses that mount clutch slave and other shit. Yeah my master link made over 5000 miles of normal? riding but not the beating around the property. I've got some work to do and havent looked into it yet. We'll see what happens... maybe ride the C14 up for a visit. Sad... 10EAE2A0-5C8B-4598-91A8-13554598887D.jpeg

BUMMER! We've got a month until its ride time so hopefully you can get it fixed. If nothing else ride the C14 up and I'll give you some excellent paved tracks for a day loop.

Damn! Well, if it's gonna go, best place to let loose is in your backyard, I say. Just curious - was it a clip or rivet type master?

It was a CZ chain and I had to peen the end of it. Even had painted it yellow so I could keep an eye on it and it always looked good. Live and learn...

Thats kind of an extreme way to get out of garden work and get some shop time. Hope you get it up and running soon.

That sucks, good luck getting it fixed!

Even if the re-open the border, I don't think I'll be heading down. Won't be covered by travel insurance if I do, that's a recipe for going broke if anything happens. :) Was going to bring my KLR this year instead of the Super Tenere, but haven't even started fixing that to get it rideable again.

    Have a great time!
