Well besides maybe depreciation and being able to tell people my bike is from the future, I do like the color of the headers on the 2020 more than the chrome ones on the 2019. Otherwise, they're mostly the same.

I thought all 1250's have stainless headers?

I believe all 2019's have chrome headers, at least all of the ones that I've seen. Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sometimes BMW sneaks in a few changes mid-year. For example, there were two versions of the 2017 GS - the later version having some substantial improvements. Those changes however were announced at the EICMA I think so their arrival at the dealers was not a surprise. What I'm getting at is that maybe in a day or two BMW will announce some late 2020 upgrades so that while the 2020 we could buy today is unchanged from 2019, there may be an upgraded 2020 announced shortly. Maybe.

Question: how does one go about getting the flashy brake light thingy? (brake light modulator?)

Is it a software or hardware mod?

Picked her up last month. Now she has Brooks cases, altrider guards (headlight, master cylinder, brake fluid reservoir, side stand switch), radiator covers, Ilium hwy pegs and Rox risers. Love the bike! First service tomorrow!

It seems that no matter what color bike you put the gold wheels on, it turns awesome in no time flat!! :D

Picking up my 1250GSA in January with the "dual-sport" tires option. I'm assuming they will be Karoos from the factory. Not my first bike or BMW, and I've got some experience (both voluntary & involuntary) riding street bikes in sand, gravel, hard-pan, etc., so I've got that going for me, which is nice... What am I looking at for noise levels from the Karoos on the street compared to street tires, and what's the expected durability of them?

Oh, and black wheels since I'm not pimping... ;-)

Are you saying what I think you're sayin'? :lol3

Regardless, congrats on your moped purchase, regardless of wheels' color... :clap

Gold wheels means dirt is more noticeable and for those of us who are "slightly" OCD...

The gold wheels are my bikes street shoes.
The black woodys wheels are to stomp around in the dirt.

Acchully, it's the other way around... Black shows dirt like no tomorrow while goldilocks hide it... :D

There was a pic of Shifty GS HP w gold wheels after a substantial off-road muddy ride (I think in the "2019 Shifty ordered..." thread) where the gold wheels didn't show as dirty as you'd think...

Regardless, wheels' color is personal preference and can't make a wrong choice either way - I'm glad that BMW has made that an option on Exclusive and HP so peeps can choose what suits their tastes... :beer

If I could have my way, I would run gold wheels just for off-roading because I think they look great when dirty.
