This group is headed out for an October ride over the next 10 days. While we have ridden many ADV miles in this part of the country, we have also been snowed out, washed out and smoked out -

So here we go - - to Finish Off 2020. The plan is to start in Moab, head East towards the Rocky Mountains and finish the ride in Phoenix.

Thanks to Mike R. for the maps and GPS work! He has spearheaded these adventure rides for the past decade +

The chase truck and trailer have allowed us to expand our footprint.

Mike S. is meeting us in Moab. He has ridden the TAT on a 640 ADV. He rode the CDT on a 990 ADV, and has ridden many hybrid versions of the BDR’s on his 950 SE. Well this time he will be riding his new 690 -

Sheesh - make up your mind already

I was a fan of your 950 SE

Jeff L. will be on his Husqvarna 701 - and we trust that fuel range will not be an issue on this ride :brow

This accomplished rider has previously ridden from Prudhoe Bay to Panama on his trusty 950 ADV - so he has that going for him.

Eric S. rides a 690 - hard, and is usually the first in our group to ball out his rear tire. Following him eliminates the need for any map or GPS, just follow the Braap!

PVD - is an awesome rider who has ridden the TAT, the CDT a couple times, along with all of the BDR hybrids on his 950 SE.

He has also earned many beers over the past ADV rides - simply by helping me pick up my bike - over and over again. Thank you Sir!

Captain Mike has a CDT on his resume, and he rides his 2008 530 EXC like he stole it - which is possible. The Baja Rip the Tip was his ideal ride, but he dials down the speed on these ADV rides.

    6C7A1F15-BEF8-4CBC-9114-A1EC60C81A88.jpeg

He only passed me 10 or 15 times on our last ride. It doesn’t hurt my feelings at all.

Mike R. brought a backup 2018 500 EXC, along with his Gold Standard - 950 SE Erzberg. He has earned all of the 25,000 miles on it from new.

This guy really makes the most out of these trips, and keeps it real for all of us!

We were up early and fueled the bikes. The morning sun had the red rocks looking good.

There was a second 50 mile ridge run after a quick lunch. This kept us in 3rd 4th and 5th gear for an hour.

Imogene Pass was as advertised - steep, rocky and a straight handful from top to bottom.

Many passes have challenging sections. The extended duration of challenge on this 20 miles - is real!

One of the carbureted 950 SE bikes - started sputtering hard - at 12,000’. So 3 of the bikes ran back down, and looped the highway to Ouray.

    Beers in Ouray for all!

Yesterday’s ride was part of the Rocky Mountain MC Ride Series - the Red Rocks to Mountain Tops - section 1

A huge thanks for the track ideas, which are getting our group to many of our Unfinished CO. areas!

Sitting in line to get started up Imogene.

The morning was a cool 35 degrees and clear - the weather is with us these October mornings - at 8000’

From Ouray to Lake City over Engineer Pass. This run was about 35 miles. A few rocky sections and switchbacks to navigate early on. But a great route up to 12,800’

We rode 149 South for 30 miles - and then took 520 along the Rio Grande Resevoir. This 25 miles lead up towards Stony Pass.

The road turned into a super quad track - which was all dirt - with a few steep rocky sections.
