Hey Tom. Looks great. About how much higher are you sitting with the new seat?
I sure did! Loved it on the RDL I had on my 2015 DL1000 and will always have one given a choice.
Haven't hooked up the heat yet. That should happen this weekend some time.
Nice, that seat looks fantastic!
Thanks! Super comfy! So far have only ridden to work this AM with it (only 70 km/40 miles) but right away very comfy and my experience from my last one is the few minor pressure points break in nicely.
I’m hoping that one of you can help me. I smashed my left side passenger foot rest bracket. All Suzuki dealers and parts houses are telling me the bracket is on national back order with no estimated time of arrival.
Does anyone have a 2018 + Vstrom 1000 or 1050 left side passenger foot rear bracket I could buy?
My bike is a 2020 1050xt.
Will this work?
I believe that will work. Thanks Dave MP.
Got my trusty ol eBay top box installed last night and out riding today. Fall temps!
What's the name of that top box? It looks like it would be nice for shorter off road trips.
Not sure the name. I can't remember what I searched when I got it. It's been on 2 other bikes.
So, I have an older 1000 Gen 1 and I love it but its frankly ugly and its a little unrefined compared to what I am used to. But still I love it. I am getting older and really looking to get something refined and quiet and smooth....Anyone who has come from the old Stroms is this bike basically similar or is it leaps forward?
I never owned a previous V Strom, but can say this is the smoothest bike I've ever ridden...coming from a Super Tenere, Tiger 800XC, and 2 BMW GS (ADV and regular). Just got home from a 500mi break in period trip and this bike is nice. Only drawback was the highway as the bike is a little smaller in size slim wise, catching some cross winds. But nothing I would not buy again over. Rode my neighbor's 2014 DL1000 prior to purchase and the 1050xt is much better in my opinion. Smooth as butter.
Checked out an XT today at the dealer. Very nice!
Seat is definitely a brick.
Can anyone comment on how the headlight is at night?
Thats good thanks. I don't think they are going to give me a test ride.If the fueling is good, the engine is the same and is a sweet motor. Its probably a Strom Vs a Tiger 900 and there is probably $2k more for the Triumph but it has a nice details, nicer display and electronics.
Triumph is sweet...I'm a big fan. I loved my Tiger 800xc, one those I let go and not sure why lol.
Nice sharp cutoff on low beam with great illuminatiion and high beam very powerful and bright.
Like every Strom I have had the headlights were not adjusted properly when new. Adjusting them made them work incredibly well! (Only one bolt under the beak needs to be loosened to adjust.)
I did not think the headlight was that good
Certainly not a patch on a Africa Twin
Hurry up tomorrow! I’m picking up my new DL1050 in black/grey.
It’s given rain tomorrow but I don’t care, I’m planning on putting a few miles on the new bike regardless of the weather..
