Tell me more about your friend's DIY battery. Details please. I'd like to do that if I get an EM Race.

We're hearing mid-August, but that's just an estimate.

I've not followed EM threads here, but for those watching - a buddy and I have a pair of custom Escapes on the way. With assistance from the US importer, discussions with EM had them agreeing to put the Race motor w/diaphragm clutch in a pair of Escapes - the first such configurations we've been told. I've heard nothing official on whether these will become regular offerings or not, but trust we'll both give our feedback here after we've taken them out.

Both of us require a "real" clutch, but both of us want the seat and extended range of the Escape. I have trials bikes, and am in fact the newest Vertigo dealer up here in the PNW - and can't imagine finding something I like better for that need. These will be more like extreme single track machines. They'll get Tubliss setups, but beyond that and some handguards - we'll likely ride 'em as-is.

    More later. :D
