Just spoke to Mardi from GPX and she said the May release of the FSE250E (big wheel), will now be 6 speed with a counterbalanced engine.

My wife and I will be completely new riders, and I'm planning on this model for her.

Thanks Navin for posting a ton of info about GPX. I was about settled into a KLX300R and KLX230G for us, but it looks like GPX FSE250 models now.

Thats a sweet engine from everything Ive heard. My earlier 5 speed is nice but Id like to "need" the new bike for its trans and balancer. Please post a full review with pics when you get them! :freaky

@Fallacy "what is this need thing you spoke of"?

I'll definitely review it...but we're complete noobs. Only briefly took a bike up and down a street and poorly.

Plan on doing lots of drills before taking it out...any tips on practicing shifting on a bike stand, without engine vibration causing the bike to wander off? Or do I need to be creative

If you can find a field and do circle and figure eight and clutch drills its a good place to start. Yootoob has lots of training vids out there, find an instructor you like and try them out. Megs brap, Ryan Hughes, AJ Catanzaro, most MX skills transfer to woods like body position and foot placement, hands/arms, etc.

Looking for confirmation that right peg is supposed to have a return spring with tails.

I cant see much in pic #1 but best if my knowledge it should have tails to return the peg down. Call Gary at GPX and they will hook it up. Unless it was meant to fold easily for a kicker, which I dont think you have?

On the right footpegs spring the factory made a bit of a mistake, the spring included is used so that it can hold the footpeg up allowing for a full stroke of the Kickstarter, however obviously the “s” does not use a kick starter. We have request is the factory correct this and send us the correct springs.

If anyone hears rattling on coast, the Kickstand eccentric stop bolt and nut hits the chain. I’ll make a threaded eccentric and run a button head from the inside.

Looking for a spark arrestor next, and I might try road registering it.

DOT 16” knobby? Never would’ve guessed - Cool!

Daughter likes it, have to run the preload way off for her for now.

Ok, I need to get a kill button wired into this as well.

Edit to add: My clutch switch doesn’t seem to work like my other bikes, have to look into that.

What paperwork have any of you guys got with the bike? Can you take the invoice with VIN down to get a title? MI titles everything, ORV and road legal.

Might be misleading opening post. I didn't think you can get a 6 speed c'balanced engine in the "S" frame. The 6 speed c'balanced engine is much bigger in the cases. Maybe I was just looking at the width, so I don't know...

Anyone have any recommendations on the battery? Mine has a clear sliding top to fill the cells. Came charged, just wondering if I have to do anything else with it. Old school - is there a fill line?:lol3

Similar to this, but the top slides off:
