South loop. HNF2021-1 & 2 is Saturday. Note my pic several post up. (Pay no mind to any red tracks you may see on that pic. That is something extra that I added for myself) Hope you bring some of those Southern Illinois inmates with you!

We were planning on coming down for the Saturday ride do you think they will mind if we leave our trucks there at the camp ground and if not is there somewhere safe to park in the area?

KTMmer950 and blrfjr----contact a couple of the inmates that have listed their campsite number on this post. Possibly one of them has room for a tent or if they are tenting would let you park at their site. Another angle, phone the camp @ 812-295-3421 and see if you could just pay the day access fee and park your vehicle in one of the overflow parking lots. I will be van camping and have donated my tent space to a fellow inmate. I'm sure others would do the same.
If none of this works, head south 4-1/2 miles to Loogootee. On the south edge of town there is a large church in an old shopping center building. It is at the intersection of US231 and Hwy 50. Day parking there should be no problem.

My local TV station Friday's weather forecast shows it being wet should allow for a "dustless" HNF weekend.

Thanks RoadDad I called the campsite and got their info so we are set. We might come Sunday and ride Saturdays track so we won't be playing in the mud all day. Thanks for all your work--- Your " THE MAN!!!"

Not 100% sure but I also should probably have room for a tent on my site.

I'm driving down from Indy area Sat morning and will be at Boggs before 8. I'm gonna bring my tent and see how I feel at the end of the day and if there is a crashpad available. Looking forward to the ride! The offers from you and Loose Nut are awesome. Thanks!

Already had an adventure just updating my GPS... I haven't updated maps on it since about 2016 (have just been throwing new tracks into it since then), so had fun getting new maps setup, formatting SD cards since the newer maps are too big for the GPS, clearing out the 2-3000 POIs and waypoints from other rides that were all over the thing, and then finally slipping in the new track (with an extra little waypoint to point me right to my campsite). For a tech guy, that sure was arduous. It's easy to see why people are fast losing interest in dedicated GPS units in favor of just using their phones... Either way, it's all set; all my camping gear has been checked over; everything's up on their chargers; and I just now need to actually pack everything on the bike when I get home. Going to be a fun ride in the rain on the way down there tonight!

A great tradition has been broken. Mark, dba 'mbabc", has not questioned when the tracks would be posted. I still have the post out back and it tells me it is really lonesome having nothing to do this year.

Just finished my battle damage assessment from that extra-curricular crash.

    Destroyed:
    • Windscreen + misc fasteners
    • Turn signal lens
    • Cockpit subframe + fasteners
    Damaged, repairable:
    • Windscreen bracket
    • Frame extension
    • Aux light assembly (actually unscathed, just the cockpit subframe failed)
I've already got the turn signal fully repaired. I'll have to order a shield and some parts from Madstad, as it turns out I don't have the factory brackets to mounts up the spare shields the previous owner included. That subframe assembly is a cool $160 from Triumph, but I bet I'll find one cheap from a parted out bike.

Snapped off mounting tabs, cockpit subframe.

    @Wire Fox

Sorry that you tore up some bike parts on those extra little non-HNF additional short tracks we did Saturday! I guess it is not always safe following my taillights!

I really enjoyed riding with you, Brian, Dallas, Greg and Larry! It was a great riding group both days!

@RoadDad put together another fantastic HNF ride. We were treated with a little of every type of riding surface there is around.

Tracks and campsite location ready to be post for HNF 2022??

We had a good time, and the 390s did great once again! Saw BoxerDoc again, who told us about HNF ride when we met him at a fire tower in South Dakota in July. Met Old 179, and Lost Dutchman along with a few other inmates. Hope to see some of you again in a few weeks!

You’re not alone on the dented pride thing, lost it on a tight right on today’s morning route, but sounds like your bike faired a bit worse. It’s all good, we came home intact….
