That'd be pretty amazing. The bonus in the Keys is usually considered a trap. If they pull it off it'll be amazing. I wonder how many points it is?

I'd love to see him make it but I don't see how.

He hasn't moved in about 15 minutes. Currently showing just South of ATL airport. No gas stations near by so he's either broke down or stuck in traffic.

Google shows him 562 miles from Carmel. 10PM eastern is 340 minutes (5 hrs 40 min) away. He'd literally have to average 100 mph to make it in by 10.

Don’t forget Spot is on a delay also. But is that the first or second rider to go to the keys?
That direction in the afternoon is easy peasy. The HOV lane is about a mile north of him 4 lanes to the left. He won’t hit 20mph slow down until a mile from I20, that last to the 75/85 split. Then 5mi easy to the HOT lanes which should have swapped over to the outbound toll.

Looks like he's on the move again, currently showing North of Atlanta near Kennesaw.

Still pretty close - 400+ miles with just over 5 hours to go. Maybe?

Barring stupid people having impromptu insurance conventions in his way, it’s hammer time. He’s far enough past ATL traffic now.

Maybe but he still has Chattanooga and Nashville to deal with. 5:15pm there now so 4:45 to go.

Currently shows as being at a rest area in Adairsville. Given a ~ 30 minute SPOT delay he may be near (or in) Chattanooga by now.

But that's still 448 miles via the interstate.

I am thinking that there are two factors to the tracking on the SpotWalla page. One is the default delay that IBR has in place, say the 30 minute delay, and two is the delay of when the actual tracking device performs an upload of the collected data. That upload could be an unknown time later, say 2 hours. I have witnessed a riders tag sit for a long time to then jump all of a sudden to several hours worth of riding away. Just food for thought. I also wonder if the IBR can set a different delay for certain riders information to help hide their planned route. We must also remember that not all riders are shown on the map.

Yeah but if he's 3 hours from Nashville with 4 1/2 to go until the DNF time I don't see how he makes it.

As of right now he has just short of 5.5hts.
3 to Nash, 2 to Lou, 2.5 to Indy.
Yup, don’t see it happening. Bummer

Even figuring maximum spot delay and riders really in Chattanooga now, only got 4 hours to cover that last 448 miles. Same with the rider up by Madison, Wisconsin, Been following these two riders for a day now and doing the math and it never worked...

They had a deal like that in a previous IBR, but I've heard no mention of it this year.

He called the Rally Master to withdraw. According to the last update.

Seemed hopeless for that rider in the Keys, turned out it was... who was talking about traffic in Chattanooga?

"Paul Meyer was making a big run across the US, then down to the Keys, but just flat ran out of time. Facing traffic in Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville, and Louisville, he realized it was a fool's errand and called the RM to withdraw. There is a nap in his future before he heads back to Provo to meet the returning riders. "
