Dumb question considering it says on your profile. Just not sure where you are finding this and would really like to have them threw on before I leave the dealer.

Rottweiler Performance did a FB Live session today and confirmed 2 things:

    * Bike weighs pretty much exactly the same as the 790.
    * The headers are marginally bigger, but from where they go into 1 to the back it’s all the same. The Arrow decat fits just fine.

So can we just bore our 790's to an 890?

Good to know. Evidently the person I spoke to at Rottweiler was not aware of this yet. Now I have to place the order again for the midpipe.

    You could...but....a Tune...airbox....cams.... easier....

I want to ride an 890....I liked the motor in my 1190 more than the motor in my 1290...the 1190 revved better...

Until a rider stops using traction control they don't need the power the 790 makes....hahahaha

just watched it and its not exactly true
they weighed the rally and it came out 1 or 2 lb heavier then the 790s/r
the rally comes with the pro suspension and the akro pipe which are both lighter

It still sounds good though compared to the 7kg or more we here hearing about the press. Most of whom probably never weighed the bike.

Thanks for this update. The exhaust mystery is solved! Great news on the actual weight numbers.

Good news re the Arrow mid-pipe working on the 890. Now just need to see if a lucky 790 R buyer wants the "basic", or "fully sorted" version.

No in my case it seemed as it was in neutral and I let off the gas and braked and it then kicked into the lower gear. Weird.

Yes but only on a parking lot in front of the dealer as the bike was not plated yet. We picked up my friends new 890 Rally last week.
My first impression was that the clutch actuation is much heavier than on my 790 Rally (Camel clutch disregarded).
    Anyone else found this too?
We came to the rapid conclusion after 1 minute that the 890 definetely needs the Camel clutch, more than the 790 does.

Maybe offworlder was referring to having hydraulic actuation rather than the stock cable system. I put that Magura kit on my 790. It’s really a nice improvement in feel, IMO. I see it’s on ebay for $299 (same as I paid last June).
