Unfortunately the KTM approved Akra pipes are just a stock street pipe with a fancy skin...they do nothing for throttle response...or power...or....

If you have a Rally...then you are stuck with it I guess...If not a rally...the Akra is a poor choice...too heavy...too big...no sparky... Wings beats it in every regard....

I can remember an old dirt bike article where they tested some pipes, and there is simply no replacement for noise! If you bought a performance muffler and choked it down to a fairly legal level, a slightly modified stock muffler would win every time, at the cost of being a little heavier and larger. An aftermarket pipe that is mostly straight through but with a cork shoved in the end is never going to be as noise-efficient as a real muffler with baffles and cones, etc.

Rally's also come with the stock exhaust. Make sure you tell your dealer you expect the stocker with the Akra (and then sell the Akra :-)

I am looking at various silencers for my 890 R. There is a lot out there based on my research. Leaning towards Wings with SC in the running. Wings has a removable DB killer with integrated spark arrestor. How difficult is it to remove the Wings DB killer? I know with the Akra you have to take it apart.

Anyone weigh the CAT on the 890? Curious on what it weighs.

Wings, hands down. The sparky/dB killer is designed to be removed; it’s trivial.

Yeah, mine came with the stock one, they asked me if I wanted to keep it. I did. I’m thinking I might try to sell both of them and go with the wings. I like the look of it better, not so big.

Some insight, nothin' new, but at least interesting regarding the different clutch pack.

Does anyone know if the new clutch pack is a direct replacement for the 790's?

I think the 890 cat is the same as the 790 cat. The 790 cat is just under 6lbs.
