My grips are on order, is the connecter in the headlight marked or is it easy to tell which it is?

No it's kind of hidden away and has a protective plug cover on it, but it's the only 3 wire connector in there. Remember mine was on a Duke 890 R.

Thanks, I opened mine today and could not find the connector. Nothing had a cover and 3 Wires. Any other ideas? IMG_2674.jpg IMG_2673.jpg

what heated grips do you have on order? the older 790 model with external heat conrol switch or he new 890 ones ( that are not available yet) that integrate with dash and the existing bar switch. O dont think we will know until the new 890 unit arrives and see instructions. What I have kinda figured out is the new 890 ones will come with a heater control unit. and just below the battery to right under fuse panel is a big plug with a dummy cap. I think that is there the heat control unit may plug in based on pictures Ive seen of the control unit--and I suspect the second part of heat control unit will be for heated seats.

I'm anxious to get the heated grips, but I'm holding off on making any moves until they actually materialize. The KTM site was showing 63712964088 as the heated grip kit for the 890 Adventure, but that does not appear to be there anymore. I had chatted with a European supplier that had the 63712964088 part listed and they said it has been replaced by two part numbers: 60712964044 is the actual grips (same as the 1290 ADV I think) and 63712944044 (not yet available) is the control module. They had asked for my VIN# in order to make this determination so I have at least a little faith in the information.

you pul the sead of and take the tank of
pul the fusebox of its bracked and you wil see a connector under there
put the connector in the controle box and place the bracked wit he box on the place where the fusebox was sitting

The connector for the heater grips sits under the abs module IMG_20210221_135504.jpg IMG_20210221_135829.jpg

great where do the actual grips connecter located- it would be just like KTM to hide it under the fuel tank-- why not just in headlamp mask or in front tube housing- they are good at making things harder than needed. Here is a 1290 instruction pic -looks like a 2 pin connector to me for the grips. Let us know where yours was and thanks!

I have the new 890 Heated grips on order, not extra control box. That is if my KTM dealer didn’t screw it up! Lol

I'm about 98.5% sure your dealer screwed up and ordered the heated grips for the 1290 bikes. I believe those bikes have the controller built into the dash unit and the grips just plug into the rear of the dash unit. So the kit is just a set of grips with no control unit or bracket.

I can’t wait to hear the feedback on the new grips. I’m still debating the Tech software package.

    El Bomba,

I noticed your insect head (inside the electrical harness) pics show the euro turn signal lights, but the desert vid shows the NA turn signals?
