I haven't seen prices for adventure bikes but going by the dirt bike models it could hurt. Check out the 300EXC Erzbergrodeo for AUD $19,500 on the road.

The pricing on the adventure bikes should be interesting as Chinese production of certain models started back in June, so I figure quite a few of the 2021 models will be Chinese. Will this be reflected in the price too?

There's been a fair bit of debate about recent price hikes, and to what extent it's because KTM headquarters took over the importing into Australia and New Zealand in 2019. It's such a huge company now with its Indian and Chinese partners there is debate about whether the focus on profit has overtaken everything else.

    Not only KTM and Husky

Check out the price for a new WRF

It's a sellers' market at present - once that corrects, prices should become more realistic again ...

Look at what happened to those weird Husky road bikes with the 390 donk.

    Reduced by 4 grand.

It costs an awful lot to win MotoGP races. Guess where the money has to come from? It is always the customer who pays eventually

No plans to buy any more bikes, next 5 years anyway. (OK, theres ONE more Im hunting)
If anything, I might sell a few in the next 2 years, so I'm happy 2nd hand prices are also up.
Bikes, like all things, keep increasing in price. Whats the point of the thread?

These are interesting times - on all sorts of levels - things happening all over the place that we never thought we'd see

A year ago no-one could have imagined that it would ever be virtually impossible to buy a new (brand new) bike

Or that prices would be as they now are

I've at least got a bike to ride, but want another and frustrated that this will have to wait 6-12 months - but there are worse things to be unhappy about ...

Actually it's a bargain. My 500 EXC-F was $300 cheaper than a WR450. I declined the $1,000 KTM hard parts cash offer and that reduced the price by $1000, making it cheaper than the comparable Japanese competition.

You could now argue that money is a religion (and be on far more solid ground...).

Wish I'd known about the run-out deal on 500 EXCs

Current price is circa $2000 more than a WR450F

And doubt many WRFs will sell at that price - although the reviewers can't seem to say enough good things about the current model

That's why they sell so many WRFs.

Doesn't answer why a small 2 stroke trail bike would cost over $19,000 though. Or why anyone would pay that.
