I never cared for the styling of the Hayabusa, so I bought a ZX-14 in '09. It's the bike I most regret selling.

Hopefully, this refresh will update the looks. I'm in new-bike mode, and the news of an updated Hayabusa intrigues me.

My first bike (1977) was a Suzuki, and I've always wanted another one...

I am curious to see what the have come up with, hope they can update the looks along with performance.

I have never really been a Busa fan, I own several Blackbirds and a ZX14R tho.

    Sweet!

I won't buy one. Just too big and heavy.

I’d love to see the Hayabusa continue on. Power wise I’m not sure it needs more power but hey it would be nice. I’ve always liked the smooth aerodynamic design of the Busa, non apologetic all Japanese balls with silky smooth power everywhere.

My Bking even with its top speed limited to ~ 155mph is a beast that never feels lacking for power. Look forward to seeing the new Busa!

The Busa wasn't bad for sport touring, and I saw a lot of them at the drag strip when I raced. It made a nice platform for a drag bike, though I saw a lot that were raced stock. One of my regrets was not buying a drag bike a friend had made from a Busa. It was a full blown drag bike, complete with turbo.

Funny, I used to own a Busa and it caused a LOT of thoughts to pop in my head.
    Things like:
-Holy crap this thing is fast!
    -TOOOOOORRRQUE!
    -Man, this bike is smooth
    and my personal favorite:
-Was that the fairing I just felt skim the road?!
"This bike is just too big and heavy" never once crossed my mind though...
That Hayabusa is still one of the most amazing bikes I've ever owned or ridden. :raabia

Yeah, I demo rode a stock 2017. Was pretty amazing. For a 20 mile ride. That was enough.

A Bking on the other hand....:hmmmmm

I thought I remembered reading that when Kawasaki was designing the ZX-11 - or was it Honda designing the Blackbird? - they wanted to achieve 200mph, but the wind tunnel revealed the optimal design was something that looked like the Hayabusa.

Now that they have this agreement to max out at 186mph (300kph) I suppose Suzuki could change the styling. But will they? The "Eye-a-buser" isn't for everyone, but I feel like the weird shape is integral to the bike's character.

And given Suzuki's recent history, I have a feeling the big reveal will be a couple of electronics updates and Bold New Graphics on the same old bike.

If it gets traction control, it would make my top 5 maybe replacement bike list. Not that suzuki really cares about that list or they would update the DR650 for fuel injection and such.... If not, the ZX14 will be on the list instead...

Of this genre, the Blackbird is the civilized one I wanted.

I always wanted a 'busa but feared I'd do evil scary things on public highways and lose my licence, or worse. Now that I'm old though maybe...nah, I'd still do evil scary (stupid) things on the street and lose my license, or worse.

I would love a new SuperBlackbird, with updated brakes (radial Brembo Stylema's???), suspension (regular top of the range Showa, and an "S" version with electronic adjustable Ohlins :rayof), ergonomics (better comfort seats, heated grips), ABS (Bosch top-end), TCS, QuickShifter and all the bells and whistles, Full LED everywhere, a minimum 200 HP and 140 Nm...

It would be a dream. I don't know what are they waiting for!

The Busa was never my favourite...

I’m thinking Suzuki is gonna try to off the Zx14 to take back the king of the hill crown.
    We shall see.

I "think" the ZX14 has ceased production, so that leaves the Hayabusa in a class of one I guess.

I bought mine new in 2002
Still have it, but has been resting more than running in the past 6-7 years as I went back in time to older bikes from my youth.
The bike did EVERYTHING I ever asked of it, without the slightest bit of trouble ever.

I have wanted a newer version, but the second gen was not new enough from what I already had.
Maybe this one will be the one that gets my interest back to a new Suzuki.

I hope this video is not like the teaser Suzuki released on the 6 cyl Stratosphere years ago.

The one that appealed to me is the B-King, which is sort of like a more upright, nekkid Hayabusa. If they bring back a more upright, nekkid version it might help keep those speeds under control. Although you can go plenty fast on a naked bike too. Cycle World hit 158mph (254kph) in 4th on the B-King. Only 153mph in 6th due apparently to lower rev-limiter in the top 2 gears.

I would really like to see a new updated Busa too. I did notice in the teaser video it looked like footage from the old unit when they showed a glimpse of the old analog gauges.
