What would the Hayabusa's 9.98 at 146mph quarter mile equate to on an 1/8 th mile track ? With 0 to 60 at 2.5 seconds, maybe a 5 second 1/8 mile ? Dang !:D

    I learned that 1.56 x 1/8 th mile times equals 1/4 mile times. So.....:jjen

I watched a tricked out Busa crash at our local 1/8th mile track, Barona Drags, and it looked like he got into some headshake tankslapper, crunch, slide, bang , but it was a monster to launch, even with his extended swingarm :-)

The new silver Busa looks sharp, only $ 20,000 bucks ...

Looks to me Suzuki have done a good job. Filled in the mid range torque curve, decent suspenders and electronics safety net that appears to be various levels of switchable. Looks have improved out of sight, to my eyes atleast.

There is 1 new ZX-14R still for sale here in NZ and thats it I think for $29K. I suspect he will soon consider offers.

Pricing seems odd, 16.5K GBP is closer to $23K USD, not the $19K USD I read on here. Be interesting to see the pricing down here when they announce it.

Shaping up to be a storming road bike.

The UK price (and all European prices) include all taxes, add-ons, etc, the price really is what you pay to get the keys. In the US, it's the opposite, no taxes, add-ons, no shipping etc included. Taxes of course vary in each country.

Ah, ok thank you. More or less the same here. Any costs not included need to be spelt out. Looks like it's shaping up to be about NZ$32K here.

Taxes vary not just by each state, but can also vary by county, and municipality. Some states it's pretty even all over, others you need to know where you're standing before you can do the math to see what the purchase is actually going to cost.

Love this latest incarnation of pointless, wanton and utterly excessive Japanese hyperbike power and dick swinging.
It has no place in modern traffic situations but I’m SOOO glad Suzuki made this bike and it’s available for all of us immature and nostalgic petrol head fans to buy!
For your info and perusal, the latest edition of the UK motorcycle magazine ‘Bike’ has tested this Japanese antidote for mid life crises everywhere; the stats are as follows:

    Top speed - 181.97mph
    0-60 sprint - 2.69secs
1/4 mile dash - 10 secs dead, tho that was in a strong side wind and they reckon it’ll do 9 in perfect conditions
    70-0mph - 53 meters
40-80mph top gear roll on - 5.27 secs

    Pretty mad figures!
I’m very happy with my DL1050 but I’m tempted.
Surely everyone needs to own their very own version of a F15 Eagle at least once in their life!? :-)

Sorry to see this thread dead, especially when the new Busa is more comfortable than the last one and even more suited to be used as fast sport-tourer. Got a test ride a couple of weeks back and can't stop thinking about it since. Wonderfully smooth bike, especially for its power and weight.

I'll switch my naked GSXS1000 for that one, the question being now or at the start of next season.
