WELCOME to the OFFICIAL ADVRider/F5 2021 Saudi DAKAR coverage thread...
HERE is where the f5 dakar-ista's of the ADVRider RACING forum can congregate to follow this years DAKAR rally.
The past year - 2020 - and the global effect of the COVID-19 pandemic are still all foremost in our minds... none more so that with respect to the conduct of this years DAKAR rally.
At this point in time I would like to remind and encourage all of the forum members that CHOOSE to follow the course of the rally here - as a GUEST of ADVRider.com - to please show restraint and courtesy with regards to GIVING PRIORITY to the competitors and sporting progress/results of the competition as well as the interest social/geographical aspects that surround the rally.
This forum is NOT a platform for comment about the religious, ideological, cultural/social or political aspects of the host nation... and will not be entertained. If you wish to follow and discuss the rally competition - HERE is the place... If you want to push other agenda's... respectfully, please go elsewhere.
So... to get back to the sporting matters at hand;
The ADVRider.com RACING FORUM virtual DAKAR f5irehose... has in recent years been one of the premier places upon the internet/social media, where rally enthusiasts can monitor and follow the progress of the DAKAR Rally - in real time. HOWEVER, the F5 experience is as much about what you put in... as what you get out of it...
"Remember; ask not what the forum can do for you... consider what you can do for the forum..."
To ALL of our "old hands" at the f5 collective... please contribute links etc. that will form the architecture for our annual DAKAR coverage frenzy...

Wait, no one's said it yet.....?
Hello... this is your 2021 DAKAR F5 firehose microphone check... check... check one, two...
One very handy tool on Dakar.com for those of us who get confused with time zones and converting Saudi start times into local times is the little countdown timer in the bottom left corner ........At last - something useful
I now understand why some folk drive on the wrong side of the road.
Here we go!
THE AMERICANS ARE COMING
Are we there yet?
Is Mccanney a ringer? seems to have hauled some express mail on the prologue
One to keep an eye on for sure. Top 10 dark horse in my book.
Skyler Howes and Ross Branch are up there, as well. I'm very interested to see where those two end up.
Definitely rooting for Skyler. Shorty is at the top of my watchlist. Seems like his training with Brabec and Jimmy Lewis has gone well, hoping to see some results from that.
Who's 'KENNY' ?
For sure, I'd love to see all three USA riders in the Top 10.
So if the top elite riders have a six tyre rule does that mean some of those riders who are not classed as ( elite ) can chuck on a tyre every day and have a chance of doing real good, like your Skyler Howes, is chunky sanders classed as elite
