All the info is up race fans! https://www.tt2000.org/

Starting and finishing in Oamaru of all places :)

Chomping at the bit all ready. Might have to start looking at maps and things later on...

I'm signed up, this looks like a really cool route and there are some really nice ways of getting to and from Oamaru, might pack some camping gear and make a week of it.
Feeling pleased with myself because with my low level navigation and general finding places skills I actually located that beer bottle mystery checkpoint!

I haven't planned anything except where we're staying in Oamaru...

Keen to look at some of those big points jobbies and the ones that have gravel involved. Maybe look at max points for as close to 2k as possible...I usually have a number of routes worked out before I decide on the final plan.

I think we will be going for everything that is up a gravel road plus a few gravel short cuts, nice gravel roads down there.

After some route help please. Looking at the Craig (lonely Graves) checkpoint at the moment.

My Garmin maps don't believe that Craig Flat road goes right through but Google reckons it does. No street view but the satellite view looks like a pretty nice gravel road.

Anyone got any experience of it? Looking to ride from Beuamont through to Miller Flat. Looks doable but might be there on dusk and don't really want to run into any trouble on an 1100km day...

Don't know about Millers Flat but getting up to Duffers Saddle on your S10 should be a doddle. Good gravel road all the way. And down into the Nevis Valley for that matter. Possibly the best bit of gravel in NZ on the right day. Do you turn round and come back from Duffers?

Fair enough. It'll be there when you go back. Prolly be sealed by then though...

It's been a few years since I last went that way, but yes, it did go right through.

Yes you can easily ride Beaumont to Millers Flat along Craig Flat Rd, there's a cycle trail through there now and the road is well maintained for access, just watch for stock.
