Sure. By and large, that is what other mfrs have done. CB1100, Z900RS and the XSR series all have relaxed ergos that the old dudes retro demographic appreciate. If they had gone that way with the Katana brand, that could work too. Anything that differentiate it apart from either the GSX-S1000 or the F version... more than just a peanut tank and retro styling.

We'll see in the coming months what Suzuki has in store.

    The naked Suzuki should've made...

Haters gotta hate. I think it looks spanky. If aliens thieved my bike I might march into a store and buy one of those.

Ha! I like the new naked GSXS1000, i just wish suzuki would also offer it in serious sport touring trim with hardbags, cruise, etc.

Also not sure why they don't build on a SV1k platform.

No, they don't. The gsxs100f has a fairing, but neither of the features i mentioned, or really any that would place it anywhere near the top of the sport touring category. It would work for that purpose but so would a lot of bikes, so currently its just another half hearted attempt by Suzuki that will end up as discounted leftovers.

Yeah, I had an SV1000S and the big V-twin has a very different character compared to inline4's. I love that engine, but the rest of the bike felt like it was designed by Suzuki's basement discount department. Too bad they were willing to throw R&D yen at the VStrom1k, but not the SV1k. Suzuki missed a golden opportunity to have the Japanese Ducati Monster and Supersport.

I'd like a Suzuki 1050 V-twin something or other also.

V-strom is OK but a SV like naked one would be cool too. Like a new TL1050S. :D

I don't think they will be making another F version. Naked bikes are popular now. After the 2nd gen SV650 they never made another faired version.

Price in Germany is €12,900 but that also includes 20% tax, and all other related fees, equivalent to $10,000 - $10,500 in the US.

£10999 in the UK . I'd wait a year, lets face it it's not going to be a big seller, and already Suzuki have £750 off the vstrom 1050 and dealers are doing even more.

I typically prefer classic looking nakeds (I own a 2017 SV650), but like the look of the stacked triple headlight. I think this bike looks cool (blue for me).

My brother will be keeping his F model also, he absolutely loves it, after 30years on 3 fireblades he thinks the Suzie is his perfect bike. He looked at the ninja, mt10 etc but thought either to naked or to touring. He doesn't tour just single day rides up to 200mile and evening rips.
I give him a ride on my vstrom but he was back in 5 minutes, I said what's up, he replied "I don't know how r better still why you ride that thing!" lol
