    some more pix:

On Friday almost everyone was getting their stuff together and getting that extra gas:

I was with the first group to go out to Ballarat:

The plan was to ride pleasant canyon and then catch up with the 11am group for Goller and Mengal. It was going great. I was riding towards the back of the pack when I come to a corner and see this.

I wonder what could be the hold up??

It turnd out to be a set of steps with water and a right hand turn just for good measure.

Here is rammer on the big 950:

I have to admit that I was skeered :shog and wanted my momma. If it wasn't for rammer who said he would take his 950 through there, I probably woulnd't have tried. Thanks Rammer!

Here is another shot of scruffy going through. It shows how steep it is and it shows the turn:

I have to say that the 950 would have been so much easier to ride that section with better gearing.

The other hard section was a hill climb with a sharp right hand turn and lots and lots of loose rocks. I actually lost control and ended up dumping it. It was rammer and scruffy who walked down about 400 feet and helped me get going again. I have to say that without them giving me a push, my 950 would still be up there :rofl

now for the ride down. again the 950 gearing was the wrong choice. there was this long constant rocky downhill and steps in the mix.

here is scruffy with some of the steps. what I didn't get in the picture is a 300 foot drop to the left. This was not a turn to screw up on:

We aslo pased a wood bridge but I didn't get any pictures.

Then it was back down to Wingate Rd. where we went back to Ballarat to get our gas stash. There must have been 30+ motorcycles going the other way. It was crazy. We got gas and spent 20-30 minutes just shooting the shit.

    Stay tuned. Next up Mengal.

Yea I pulled over for a guy with a orange/blue? KTM (950a?) in the back of a Ford(F250?) truck just out of Panamint Springs. It must have been me. Actually once I gout out of the mountain pass and started moving South, it warmed up fairly quickly, as I was moving out of the storm. Average temps for the rest of my ride home were actually rather pleasant for the most part.

PS: Maybe one of these days I'll actually quit trying to do hill climbs in 1st gear. My first gear will only power the rear wheel out from under me or wheelie the bike off to the side, there's just not enough momentum, as I so tactfully demonstrated in those pathetic hillclimb attempts lol wtf was I thinking. Second gear and it would have been a sinch; I would have scooted right up no problem...next year that's exactly what I'm going to do on that hill! Too bad no one got a video of me flying up the Chloride Cliffs hill climb :( Well I think at least someone got a pic or two...
