Get over there and vote for it too!
"Death Valley and the Amargosa", by Richard E Lingenfelter. Excellent book.
nate, thanks for posting your pics...those are places none of us nOObs didn't know they exist.......
there was a rider following you and he was doing good but his bike wanted to get a close up of the canyon wall...
I took a couple of days getting home, so I just caught up on the feedback and pics.
I had an absolutely great time, especially Pleasant Canyon and Goler Wash. The
Manson cabin was one of the freakiest moments of my month. The storm on Sunday
was also freaky. I got some photos, but I can't seem to figure out how to get them
onto this post.
Looking forward to the 2009 n00b ride!
Well, it loks like one of my photos got posted.
Now - here's the other side of the rainbow, just to prove that it was ground to
that was rammer !
I'm not sure what happened. I have to admit that he is a damn good rider.
I also have to add that when I went through there, my vision wasn't that good. I could see where I needed to go but not what the terrain looked like. I came around the corner and saw a group of bikes. I didn't even see the steps until it was too late. I just goosed it and away I went. I suspect the same might have happened to rammer. only he tried to slow it down. Also I was trying to keep TrailTrick in my sight. Man can that guy ride!!!!!
Alright...I'm uploading the first video at 1280 by 720. Let's see how long it takes and what Smugmug does to it....
That could be hazerdous
Robbie the Pogdoc and I didn't get in until Sunday, so we passed most of you FF's on the way out. I had made reservations at the motel at Stovepipe months ago for this weekend to celebrate Robbie's return from 3 months of experimental prostate cancer treatment in Indiana (looks like it worked).
We couldn't do a whole lot of tough riding, but we did make it over Cerro Gordo and up South Pass on Saline Valley. There was still a little leftover snow around. The north side of South Pass got a little slimey.
Here's a few pix:
at Cerro Gordo:
