But it'll be a new beginning for something else!? :deal

And when you do come to Europe, you know which country to stop by, and it's just 2-3 hours ride from our place to Russia btw :evil

    Be safe you two,

WOW! Big question. The shortest answer I can give is the following. Traveling has served to confirm what we already knew about our own society, that it has lots of room for "improvement" (humm, I must be in a good mood this morning. I am usually a little harsher).

As for a belief in a Creator, I can only speak for myself but the answer is kinda the same. Traveling has served to confirm what I always believed, that God exists. So when seeing some incredible sight somewhere I never responded with a "that is so amazing, it must prove that God exists". It was more like "God obviously spent a bit of extra time in Utah" :lol3

    Hope that answers your question.

    Cheers

The trip has actually been coming to an end for us since we put the bike on that cargo ship back in Malaysia. Ever since, we have been just "driving home".

But as there was so much left to see back then, there is still now. We will be on the road until mid July because once that interview is done we will tour the Canadian Maritimes. This morning finds us in Fortuna, California and the prospect of driving into so rather cold temperatures. So I look at our maps of Canada and the US and realize that there are a few kilometers left:eek1.

    Hi guys,

We can pretty much garantee that if we are anywhere near Estonia we will drop by (and we should be near there...someday).

Any more close calls? Gotta love those Indian drivers. When we were there I spent a whole lotta time yelling into my helmet things that cannot be repeated anywhere. Glad you guys are OK.

OK, we gotta hit the road soon but I wanted to share what we did to guarantee that we do not fall again after our little spill in Mexico. Just a little reminder of how things should be...

Lots more pics to share of the our time in the US but CNN says we gotta go because there is snow coming this afternoon near Portland:eek1.

Brian and Marie, it was nice to see you while you passed through SF, after our original meeting in Catorce a month ago. Hope to see you two in the future, and enjoy your ride home and the next chapter of your life. You two are an inspiration to all.....

Thanks to all for the great comments these past few days (too many to respond to individually right now). But now we gotta get back to this ride report...after breakfast.

We both had a bit of a culture shock when we drove into the US last month. We had grown used to the freedom that is so easy to take for granted in the rest of the world.
You want to pass in a curb because that truck in front of you is crawling along? Go ahead and do it.
Wanna check out that waterfall up close? There is no barrier to stop you.
Feel like changing your oil in the parking lot next to the police station? Nobody will say a thing.
Of course there are good reasons to have all of these rules and regulations in place but life sure is more fun without them!

OK, let's get to some pics. Our first night in the US, San Antonio KOA...

In San Antonio we met up with our good friends Ken and Claudine and their 2 kids (the youngest did not exist when we left home)...

They've been traveling around the US for 2 months with this...

A few days later we sampled some Tequila...

Things got out of hand rather quickly...

There is also video but some things we simply cannot share :freaky

Oh yes. I gotta say we asked permission before using that picture and Ken was in fact laughing when the picture was taken. As usual with Ken and Claudine, we had a blast.
