Thanks for tyre report ... you might need to swing down south a bit and travel across Oz! Keep the reports comming lov the pics and stories.
Great ride report so far, I'm enjoying the read a great deal. Dirty wants shirt and stickers as well to help celebrate and support this ride and show off huge arm muscles and head muscle to make women want spirited mustache rides and lots of sexy time with me. Looking at the website, I'm not sure how to order one of these stylish shirts and stickers. Please help and keep on riding. Dirty
damn I wish to be there riding and instead of that I am forced to work every day and just see the damn fine pictures.
helo everybody! We are in Kyrgistan now. Finished tajikistan yesterday. There was a lot of up and downs physically and mentally. Trip report: Done: Poland, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbeijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan. 8000km. 40 days on the road. Pics now:
From Samarkanda in Uzbekistan we drove to Tajikistan. There was a beatifull raodthrough the mountains Finally after 45 Cesius degr. in Turkemnistan and Uzbekistan we have found smth cold - a nice lake in the mountains.
the water was reeeallky cold so need to worm up a bit and taste some tajik vodka with kartoshki and plov ...and off we go to the capital of Tajikistan. Found some cold again:)
Capital = good food. Had to do some paper work (permissions etc) and of we go in the direction of the Pamir mountains.
Driving a greate road along the Tajikistan-Afganistan border. Avganistan on the other side of the river. WELCOME TO AFGANISTAN!
on one checkpoint we were told that there is no road; ther river destroyed that it will be imposible to pass for few days; we would miss the best part of the road so we decided to give it a try; and yes there is no road; but when we arrived the have just finished building a kinde of passage; We were the firstto test thenew road; I wentfirst and everything went well untill I got to the other side of the collapsed road; There were a lot of cars (waiting for last 2 days) so it was hard to pass them; I tried to passs one neer the river...and sudenly there was nothing under my right feet... and I was falling with the bike into the river. Somehow managed to get out of this without being wet, but I was shaking :)
I dont no how it is possible but this guy dont have gastrolic problems, even after eating salmonella all the time:
Found a nice place to camp at 4000m.a.s.l. Peaople living in a small hut invited us for home made bread, butter and soup.
the next day I made 100 meters from the camp and my bike stopped; could not make the engin start; took of the snorkel to allow more air into the airbox - nothing; changed the fuel/air mixture - nothing; probably the carburator was stuck with smth, beacause all bkies were very weak, but my just could start; the bike was dirty and I have never took the carb out so just looked at the std manual; drained out the fuel from the carb as itwas the only thing in the manual about the carb; tried to start the engine and covered with my haned the intake into the airbox - to make some pressure that could clean the carb...and hura! the bike is working! On the road again:)
arrived to a small city and went eat smth; Could see the bike through the window, but when we went out of the cafe my GPS was gone; pleanty of people arround; I told them that I give 20$ for any information who, where, how! A small kid came to me and told he have seen it andknows where the guy livs. We made 10km by foot (full motorcycle clothes)to find out that he was wrong. After some action with the police. After few hours I lost hope (sad monkey) and we were on our way out of this place when a kid came and tald me he bought a mobile phone from somebody and maybe I m interested. yupeee. happy monkey!
