So there I was, minding my own business, when I get an email from our own lovely and talented AnnieGS. She'd found something she thought I might be interested in. A thoroughbred steed that suits a motorcyclist of my caliber. Something equally at home on the Tarmac or some sketchy goat trail. It was a little older than what I'd been riding before, but looked very clean. The pictures in the ad were what really drew me in. I wanted, needed a bike just like this.

    Here are those pictures:

    Yep. A 1969 Honda CT90. A real fire breather.

The fella I got it from picked it up to relive the fun he had on them when they were, uh, current. He had a mechanic go through the whole bike- replacing cables, chain, tires, etc. Then he drove it 40 miles in two years and parked it for over a year. It wouldn't start, so he sold it to me cheap.

It wasn't easy to get started. I had to turn the key on, turn the petcock on, then kick it over like 10 times. That was it, it started. :lol3

It wouldn't idle, so I pulled the carb, cleaned it and put it back all in about 20 minutes. After that, it ran like a champ. I insured it (cheap)and rode it on down to the DMV to get a plate. I really got number 309 the first time. it was kinda cool.

Anyway, the thing is a hoot, it's fun to be on a motorized bike again. I rode it all over town today. Going to take it camping this weekend. Fun.

I used my fabrication skills to adapt some KLR luggage:

Thanks for the find Annie. This thing is unbelievably clean.
