    The cable does look a bit thick, but I was thinking you could possibly remove the shielding and just use the bare wire like you would with the tape.
    I think I'll order some and see how it goes. I could always use it to heat my floor if it doesn't work out...

    What are you trying to gain? :)
    Theres plenty of options for more suited wires in this thread.

    Removing the insulation doesnt sound like a good idea, you dont want a short close to your skin.

    So is a bulb then... point is, if a piece of wire close to the terminals touch, he will burn himself, as the resistance on that section is very low.
    I feel its a fair warning about somthing to look after.
