I got my KTM GPS mount in and replaced the my RAM mount I had initially used (while I was waiting for the part to arrive, which took a minute...)
I don't want/need the RAM adjustability now that I have the KTM mount...

If anyone wants the OEM GPS cover I modded, drop me a PM with an address and I'll ship it out to ya.

I suppose I could make an adapter, but will not. This will be hard-wired.

    Just wired up my GPS.

I find it helps if you pretend you're a proctologist.

Have you ever heard the story about the gynecologist who wanted to become a motorcycle mechanic? He went to the local technical college, signed up for evening classes, attended diligently, and learned all he could. When the time of the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks, and completed the exam with tremendous skill.

When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had obtained a score of 150%. Fearing an error, he called the Instructor, saying, “I don’t want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wonder if there is an error in the grade?”

“The instructor said, “During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark.” After a pause, the instructor added, “I gave you an extra 50% because you did it all through the muffler.

Dual usb charger replacing the ciggie lighter socket.

Fyi all you need to do this is remove the screen, tft and a couple of bolts on the plastics to allow the socket piece to clip in and out. Dont do what i did and remove most of the front plastic

I ran the wiring for my Zumo 396 down the left side, just under the tank and along the frame to the rear. I mounted the "Garmin Box" with Scotch Fasteners. IMG_20201023_164049208.jpg

You can but the issue ive found with those is they do not like dust or sand, and as they are spring loaded they always pop out

    GPS mount;

I used the MotoMounted adapter. Nicely made from a 3D printer. They print to order but they shipped two days after order, ship first class mail.

I am using a short Ram ball arm. The end result is a little shaky with a Montana. I may have to mount directly to MotoMounted adapter and get rid of the Ram ball stuff.

    The Montana weighs 10.3 ounces.

Found a nice chain guard that works even though it’s not listed explicitly for this bike. TM designworks RGC-KT3-OR. (08-20) 125-530 All models, (19-20) 790 Enduro R, HUSKY (14-20) 125-501 All. BB641624-0151-4D89-8146-17085201AF00.jpeg

So, does that have a dust cover for when not in use?
Also, any link to buy the unit? The cig lighter adapter is a paint to carry around and use.

    Thanks!

I wonder if there is an adaptor that will just sit flush inside allowing the cap to close over. That gives us the choice to use the socket when needed.

    Yes there definitely is!

I just got these from Aliexpress. They are dual qc 3.0 usbs and the stock ciggie just unscrews and this screws directly into place. For the life of me i cant get the link to actually paste across properly but its a store on there called Cargod. No particular reason i got them from there was just the first one i searched

Ooh..I think I found it- and also a comparable one on Amazon for faster delivery!
So, it's a simple as screwing and unscrewing the old one out? No cutting, crimping nothing? :O
New weekend project! Thanks for the great tip!
