Actually, I made it home safely last Sunday.. Just didn't have a chance to get to the computer until now...

This is my KLR (yes, a KLR did really make it to the Polar Ride this year :eek1 ) all ready to go... all I had to do was pull on my gloves, hit the starter and go.

I press the button and "click" but no start... damn there goes this trip :flush now I will have to stay in my nice warm house instead of camping out in 30 degree weather. But no... I unmount the luggage, bags and tank bag and remove the side covers to get to the seat bolts and remove the seat to discover that the negative battery cable had come loose.. bummer.. it started :huh looks like I have to go anyhow... so I button up the bike and load everything back up and head out an hour behind schedule....

I did make it after an uneventful ride but I had to set up camp in the boonies... no room in the BMW high rent district

Your site was actually probably the best camping spot there (right along the creek), that or the one above it.

    But further from the bar.

I arrived after Hurty and Slaniac had already paced them all off and found the closest with level ground.:freaky

Headed up to the bar to have dinner and a beer or two or five... I believe thats my beer bottle on the right...but by now it could also have been the Cutty in a beer bottle... I got tired of drinking beer and filled up one of the empty bottles with a little scotch.

After a while we moved the party back to Gilla's pick nick table. By this time I was working on the second half of the scotch bottle... as was everyone else... :freaky plus whatever was in the hooka.... :bubba .. How about the black hat and scarf my wife knitted me...:clap worked like a charm.. looks like I only had a bit over half of the Cutty... my limit for an evening... beer doesn't count.:1drink

Then things started to get a little weird...

What the heck is that going on at the end of the table :kboom who had the beans for dinner.. :puke1

and apparently vaporized some unnamed gaseous Advrider.... who are we missing?

By this time, the gaseous by-products and the scotch began to take their toll..
this is the last thing I remember....

I stumbled to my tent and woke up the next morning to discover the water bottle I kept in my tent was frozen solid.. apparently it got down to 18 degrees that night.... but my Wiggy sleeping bag did its job.:clap

I also woke up with a severely sprained right thumb .... which I have no recollection of doing ....anybody know how I did this? Otherwise this was a great trip, lets do it again next year. :krusty
