Soggy Bottom Motofest update as of 3/28/20

During this crazy time, we thought we'd share some good news to brighten your day! As of right now, SB 2020 is still a go and we're hoping that as the curve flattens, we can come out of this and have a great time riding together in the end of July. We're also thrilled to announce that Team USA GS Giant Jocelyn Snow will be joining us at this years event! She'll be speaking about her experience with Team USA while competing in Mongolia, lead a group of "A" riders during our event and more! Watch her here:

We're also thrilled to announce an overflow plan that has come together (we currently have only 12 spots remaining for Godspeed location). Fowler Grove Community Center is located 6 miles South of Godspeed Events & Lodging and has graciously allowed us to rent their facility for the weekend .

We'll be renting a 8 stall hot water shower house and attendees will have the same premium experience that we've been able to provide at Godspeed. Five catered meals by Worlds Fare Catering https://www.facebook.com/worldsfarefoodtruck/ , live music on Saturday night at Fowler Grove, access to a Supercross track where we'll be having a skills challenge course with prizes.....and of course all the beer you can drink! There's no under roof accommodations at Fowler Grove. Of course the hotels listed above in State College are available for "Soggy Bottom South" attendees.

    Soggy Bottom South fees:
    Tenters: $149
RV: $169 for Camper and first person, additional $120 for each

Registered and anxiously awaiting the event. The facilities are 1st rate. The rides have been fantastic. Kudos for creating the A&B loops so riders can have the option for choosing the route that suits their skill set. Josh and Kissell Motorsports organize a great event.

Signed up as well as my father in-law and brother in-law. I did the ride last year on my Tiger 800 and told them about it. They are on BMW's and Kissell is now the closest dealer so it's cool that they put on this ride.

Can you fill us in on the details of Friday, July 24? It's a pretty long drive for me to the event, so I probably should get there Thursday night. That sound right?

Hi Doc, sure can and as the time draws closer I'll post a finalized itinerary. We're still working on a few details with guest speaker(s) and an overflow option as we're up to 80 registered attendees with 5 months to go etc. Check-in/registration will open at 9 am. We'll have our first rider meeting at 1:00 and Friday's afternoon ride will head out at 1:30. If you attended last year, the Port Matilda Hotel had a discounted rider lunch available from 11:30-1:00. Probably would be good to come in on Thursday evening and the 2 State College hotels listed above would probably offer the same discounted rates on Thursday night. Glad you can make it!!

I was really looking forward to attending this, have the time scheduled off of work and everything but hiking the price from $90 to $169 is a hard pill to swallow.
The campground even raised their rates to boot. 40 bucks (per person) to throw a tent on the ground?
Guess we'll be making our own adventure that weekend.

We certainly understand your sentiment and appreciate your feedback! As a previous attendee, you know we put a lot of effort into making this a first class event. When you consider what we're offering, 5 catered meals, hot water shower, 4 gps rides that take countless hours to put together, our event insurance, State Forest and Gameland event fees, unlimited beer and beverage, live music etc, we feel it's not unreasonable to ask more to help cover our costs. We're also flying in guest speaker and GS Giant Jocelyn Snow from California for the event. All of this takes a lot of planning and money. We're offering a less expensive alternative that will have the same level of fun as Godspeed, at a bit lower cost. Our Friday night festivities will take place at Godspeed and all SB South attendees will be welcome at the Friday night party. However, Saturday night, the main event headquarters including live music, Supercross fun and party will all be held at SB South...so it'll be the center of activities on Saturday night. Please consider all of this and maybe the South location will work for you. The fees and update for SB South can be found in today's update to our original event post. Sign up for SB South will go live 4/1 on eventbrite. Thank you for attending in previous years and hope to see you there!

Obviously it's tough to make everyone happy but it kind of sucks for everyone that signed up early, payed more, and now all the main festivities Saturday are moved to a different location. So if you signed up early you can't even have a few beers and enjoy the events Saturday night.

sorry for the confusion, ALL attendees from both locations will be welcome at both party locations (for the after dinner party only). We’ve added live music for BOTH nights which we’ve never done before. There will be plenty of beer at both locations. Jocelyn will be presenting at Godspeed and the Supercross track is at the south location. Not trying to complicate things, just trying to continue to grow the event while overcoming the 100 rider requirements from Godspeed.

Josh, for all you do just to make this happen and for everything that's included, I think it's a bargain at your 2020 price. Oh, for the what's included list I think you forgot to add a t-shirt. This is not a money-making operation, I thank you for putting together such a great event while keeping the price reasonable. Hopefully, this virus won't throw a monkey wrench into everything.

Thanks for the clarification. Still sounds less than ideal having to break it up between two locations but I understand the size limitations you're trying to work with.

Thank you for making an alternative for those of us on the lower end of the economic spectrum. With the virus disrupting work for a lot of folks sometimes every dollar really does count.
Here's hoping you all have a great time; and with luck we'll see you next year

If I payed to stay at Godspeed do I have the option of camping at Fowler’s ? Seems like that’s where the Action is Saturday night.
