First - congratulations on the new addition to your family. Children are a blessing.

Second - my wife has read only one ride report on this site, namely yours and she gave it 5 stars. This is good but even greater when you realize she is from Newfoundland herself. Her favorite photo was of the camp near Twillingate. She also agreed with a previous post that you should have gone to Fogo Island (chain islands?) etc. Hopefully this will make you return so we can see more of your excellent photography. Once again congrats.

Our baby Vlad is turning 6 months next week. Congrats to you and Judiaann.

The Trans-Lab is a trip Anatinae has been pushing me to join him on. Thanks to your RR we are planning on doing it this summer.

Thanks for the inspiration and thanks for sharing your great news. Except of course for the stolen bike :-((( :cry

    Hi Gregor,

A friend of mine sent me the ride report and I have to say thanks so much for the report and congratulations on the baby! I love bikes but when my wife and I had two kids recently, I realized it's the best.

This friend and I rode up to James Bay at the time you were coming back home in that heat. Pretty unbearable, eh? We actually had that heat all the way into James Bay. I couldn't believe it.

At any rate, thanks for a few things:
    - excellent report and pics
    - photo tips
    - camping tips (Nutella, eh? Why not!)
    - reminder of the pump (I still haven't "made" one yet)

My friend wanted to redo the Labrador route you guys did and for me it would be the first time. Glad we didn't do it as my 2 yr old VFR would have aged prematurely on that trip. And that would've made me cry. HOWEVER, I was really interested when you met up with the guy on the Aprillia using old rain race tires because that was exactly my plan (err, I have a few sets from road racing the last 10 yrs). I have no idea if they would've held up in the heat but my plan was to mount them for the trip. And sounds like he made it. Good for him!

Please post future trip reports. This is a great site. I'll keep reading. And maybe buy a dual-purpose bike...

    Pat

Hey Gregor, saw a few pics up on RTR last year but only jumped on your RR today, a great way to spend my afternoon. Thanks for all of your hard work and stopping for pics. I only took about half a dozen on my spirited run across the TLH.:lol3

Congrats on expanding your family too.:thumb
