Just over a month off now for this milestone in Rally history!

For those interested in purchasing some 50th Alpine Rally memorabilia head on over to the website to prepay your entry, and order your belt buckle, mugs, wine glasses, beanies or shirts.

    Flyer on website here https://alpinerally.webs.com/

    Facebook here https://www.facebook.com/AlpineMotorcycleRally

For those who have been before, we all would love to see some old photos: if you're on facebook come and share them there. If they're in an album, please bring them to the Rally for others to see.

The 50th is happening and it will only happen once... Rain, hail, sunshine or snow!

The bogs on the northern end have been filled with gravel recently and the track has been bulldozed so the Big and Little Dubbo Flat section is doable by big bikes again but the winter closures will be in force by the time of the rally.

Incorrect. The gates close on the Tuesday after the long weekend. Long Plain and Broken Cart will be open. Port Phillip FT should be open now, but that could easily change between now and then.

That would be a new policy, but I suspect it is an ill-informed customer service officer. I'll get back to you.

Dunno about Nottingham Rd., but Yass - Tommorama - Tumut, is in excellent shape
    [IMG]
Except for this mess at T intersection with Bondo Rd
    [IMG]
Can have issues anywhere - Nottingham Rd - near the station turn-off - can be icy up near Ridge Rd !
Can be really adventurous and expect this going over Piccadilly Circus if the conditions are right
All up to you my friends which way you go but just get there
    Cheers

I just rang the Tumut Visitor Centre and they assured me the gates to Long Plain Rd will be locked at the end of the long weekend, probably Monday evening, tha same as every other year. The person who said it closes on Friday was probably confused with when it opens again on the October long weekend.

A wise woman from Orange told me it will be the 51st Alpine.....
I'll be there to celebrate the 50th (anniversary).
Looking forward to the (skinny?) dip in the thermal pool @ Yarrangobilly Caves on Sunday.
Hope my battery holds up for the chilly start. (park near top of hill?/cover bike?/ jumper leads?)

There is a 'lost year' - when snow became a real issue and there was many camps on the side of roads in the hills - apparently ?
Distance = speed, dirt = slow & tiring
Probably Friday arvo for me Bob
