590 lm vs. 595 lm ?

    No, he is referring to your "new" 595. It needs to orient itself by the satellites so that it knows where it is at in the world.

    Took a few times, but is working fine.

    Are the only differences in between the 590 and 595 in the firmware? Does the 595 have a faster processor or more memory? For those with lifetime maps on the 590, would that transfer over if you convert it to a 595?

    It's my understanding that there are no differences in hardware, only software. There is no need to transfer lifetime maps because the 595 comes with lifetime maps.

    I believe is a firmware only, there are no changes to processor or hw of the unit. I used to own 590 and had replaced it with 595 and do not notice any differences (visual and speed). There are few extra features, but that is it.

    There is a process of upgrading the 590 to 595 that someone figured out. Not hard to do - google it if u own 590 and want to go that route.
