Haven't heard anything about it, but the bank building next door is their "shelter in place" location, so I'm sure it's fine

I believe it, my wife's not happy. I wasn't happy being surrounded by several hundred tons of steel structure with the base telling us to prep for a 7+

Going to sound weird, wish I was there camped out on the property feeling all the rumblings.

My daughter was in Christchurch NZ in February 2011. 40 earthquakes >4.0 that day. More than 440 >2.0 in one day. Good thing she was a California girl, didn't freak out. Almost 500 quakes >4.0 in the 10 months she was there.

Good times. My head and upper body were under my van, installing a hitch here in Palmdale.

You know you’ve lived in California too long when you pause to debate whether it’s shaking hard enough to warrant getting out or just keep working. A floor jack had the body lifted about four inches but still on the wheels. It more for convenience than anything.

When the underbody of the van was swaying relative to the view of the neighbor’s house, crawling out started to seem like a good idea.

now saying 7.1 - with more aftershocks in the 6 range quite likely. Oh - and now just another little one

My family is traveling to Long Beach for five days next week. Is there anywhere I can look for earthquake related travel advisories? Is there even such a thing? We are considering canceling the trip but I don’t want to over react.
