Has anyone tried the Iridium plugs from NGK in their 640 Adv?
If so have you noticed any difference?
I have one in my LC4, but I couldn't tell any difference in the running. I also put them in my GSXR and again no noticable difference. Hopefully they will last forever.

Hey Bucky... I'll bite on your iridium plug query...
The realities are, would any of the above benefits be noticeable under normal circumstances?
Would a seat of the pants power increase be felt?
Would you be willing to leave the plug in for 10... 20 thousand miles?
If one were to take the lean mixture idea to heart and rejet their bike a bit leaner, the consequences of which was a measurable improvement in fuel economy without a loss of power... then maybe the cost could be justified, especially on a single cylinder bike used frequently for commuting.

I wanted to but couldn't find one so I used the regular type. I imagine it would last forever though.
I don't know how many miles were on my plug, but it had to be 8,000 miles. It had no insulator pitting, the gap never changed that I could gauge, and it had no visible electrode wear. I really don't know why I even changed it.
I just installed one last week, and adjusted the valves along with it. The previous plug had developed a bit of brown fuzz from running too rich above 13,000 FT at the KTM Colorado rally. The new plug works great, but it is nothing earth shattering. After the install, I took the bike for a short 50 mile ride on some quick canyon roads. The bike felt strong, and the tappets were back to their tappy selves. The electrode on the IX plug is very small, slightly larger than a pin. I can't wait to see what it looks like 3000 miles from now.
Creeper, I do not believe that there could be noticeable power increase but was wondering if maybe with slightly better burn in the chamber if the bike could be a touch smoother at low revs, I currently change the plug at 3.5k miles at the time of service just because it is a pig to get to, but the plug always looks good, I think I will fit an Iridium and keep it till it fails but carry the one I take out this time, the cost is minimal, a full Â£3 more than the standard plug.
I commute on my bike 50 miles each way every day at the moment except when I have meetings and need to be suited, then I take the car but start and finish late to miss the traffic.
