    Hey all-
My sidestand just bit the dust in the driveway last night and I was wondering if there was a good source for a replacement. I have found where I can buy a new one but was wondering if there were any aftermarket ones (from like Revzilla or a similar store) that would fit and not need to be modified to make them longer/stronger or whatever.

OR- Are there other bikes that have a sidestand that is interchangeable with teh Dakar- like a KLR650 or something so I have a broader search field.

    Thanks

The Dakar and Sertao all have the same sidestand (46 53 7 669 902). The F650GS and G650GS (non-Dakar/Sertao) thumpers have a different part number, but I'm pretty sure it is the same also. There is a special sidestand for the G650GS with shortened suspension that is definitely different.

eBay typically has a bunch for sale.

Some failures can be fixed by reinforcing and welding. Check WayneC's website for info http://www.f650gs.crossroadz.com.au/SideStand.html

Forgot to mention: if you go the eBay route, contact the seller and have them measure it for you first. Compare that length to yours.

Thanks everyone. I will collect the pieces tonight and see if it is repairable first then decide which way to go. It was dark by the time I reached home last night
