Here is another question for you RR folks.

Does the RR have a keyed ignition lock? Or just the toggle switch on the dash? With the key only being used as a steering lock.

Saw in one of Lyndon's videos him repairing the wiring on the keyed lock cylinder...

    Hi everybody,
I like to change the stock orange of my 690RFR.
Is there anybody who may gime me some information about the paints, primers, etc. to be used and how?
I contacted a paint shop close by but they do not know how to do it...
    Thank you!

My friend had his painted, from memory did get bubbles/lifting of paint from vapours .
Seen a few 660/90 rfrs that did the same after short time.

Would not be a problem to set up an ignition switch, relayed directly from the toggle. You only have to fabricate a mount for the new ignition.

Yes, that is what I am planning. I just didn't know if it was already like that on the RFR

Engine back in and super excited about getting out for a ride on this bike....

Bit disapointed with that shaft failing, bike has got easy kms on it and it looks like it was half rooted from day dot ex factory.

Got a shot out of the bike, sounds sweet.(nice deep thump/intake suck)
Do a quick run on it over the next day or so then up her!
I fitted a factory pro shift arm on rebuild and just on running the bike up on pre ride have already noticed it seems too select gears/find neutral better,it will be interesting too see how it goes under load etc when riding the bike, but at this stage it seems like a good bit of kit.Always been a very heavy gearbox on this bike !

Why is 10 minute jobs turn into...............

Fitted flexible mini-LED flashers on rear and ZETA Racing Handguards with integrated LED flashers on front. Swapped the Flasher unit out for a no load LED unit and flashers work but do not blink. What am I missing? Do I need to fit a resistor in parallel across the flasher's pins?

Tank painting - I came across this product: http://www.paintflex.com/pf_PEPP_Paint.htm
I dropped them an e-mail yesterday and had this reply:
"We are the only Paint in the world, as far as we know, which adheres permanently to the polyethylene plastic surface.
Paintflex (Solvent base) is vapour permeable and resistant to the Expansion-Contraction and Vibration of the PE Plastic.
It will not peel off and will not bubble over the time , only a little bit weak ofScratching as it is H2 pencil hardness soft paint.
You should put Protective Lacquer finishing to protect against scratching (H6 pencil hardness).
The Lacquer finishing should be vapour permeable also.
The application is by spray /Roller/Brush .
We do not have the stocking agent yet in UK ,We sell direct from Japan."

Sounds really interesting HOWEVER it costs US$198 for 1kg ex-factory and then has to get to Europe. Ouch - especially for an experiment.

If there is a blinker lamp on the dash with a T5 globe in it still this can cause LED's issues.
Remove globe or fit a diode on each pin.
