Thanks for sharing your pictures and stories Eaglescan. Always enjoy this kind of scenery. I have always lived in the SE and don't get to see this kind of stuff very often.

Somebody asked where the scary stuff was. I didn't want to mention that phrase too much, it's just implied.
Like going down steep slippery hills, back wheel locked up and not slowing things down enough!
I lost it once, was facing down hill, left leg trapped under the metal side bag. Lucky I was with another rider behind me, he got me out. Soft bag there NOW.
I also get concerned when alone and hit a sharp rocky stretch, think about flat tires.

I know there is other reasons for some fear, maybe you have some too!
To soon we get old, to late we get wise!

Thanks much for posting all the great pics and stories that go along with em. Good stuff!

I miss riding and exploring out there. Moved back East about 15 yrs ago and haven’t seen a desert in as long. Although I can get my “sand fix” in the Jersey Pine Barrens now if I choose it’s just not the same.

This was a great discovery for us. Rock formation that looks like an Eagle to me. Near Warner Springs, Ca.

Nothing wrong with writing in a ride report. If there is an interesting story to go with the pics then write away. IMO the best ride reports are a combination of both pics and writing.

Going to ride the Table Mesa trail #41 to Cave Creek main.
Made a left north to Seven Springs and found the Sheep Bridge trail. It was rough but fun. Laptop Pictures-Misc 247.JPG Laptop Pictures-Misc 249.JPG

There is the Sheep Bridge over the Verde River. There was an issue with the cattle ranchers against the Sheep farmers, so Sheepers built a narrow bridge just for them.

    Laptop Pictures-Misc 251.JPG

We didn't go any further after the Bridge, real gnarly I heard, and then you have to sneak under the spillway at the dam to cross the water.
Any AZ riders reading this might clear up any untruth!
    Laptop Pictures-Misc 280.JPG

    There is the Horseshoe dam.
On the way back we rode the Bloody Basin area.
    Laptop Pictures-Misc 256.JPG

Reached the 5500 ft level, than back to Black canyon. Laptop Pictures-Misc 258.JPG

Rode this before the Bridge trip. I can only show the easy stuff, no stopping on the steep hills , momentum is your friend.

Back in Anza , near Superstition Mountain , looking for Plaster City and gas in Ocotilla.
I show this cause this where I waited 20 mins. for D to realize I was not with him.
We had 2 way radio's of course they don't work!
    Laptop Pictures-Misc 300.JPG

This was in Dos Cabeza's , Volcanic Hills.

    Lot of windmills there now.
    Laptop Pictures-Misc 302.JPG

Drop off, steeper than it looks. OK not saying that again.
    Laptop Pictures-Misc 310.JPG

Next up , the only time I ever fell in my life. I went over the bars and shoulder first in the sand.
At first I was going to leap up, but then I thought, what is the hurry!
2 people can actually lift that beast. ( 350 ) anyway

Tapiado Canyon, it doesn't get much better than this. There are many mud caves along here to go in, really dark= Scary

The Ridge Route is a nice rolling jeep trail, comes out at a private Airport.

Anza probably stood on the high part to scope the route .

Monument in center of photo, says Anza spent sometime here for the water they found.
Something in the first night scared all the livestock to run back to the previous camp in San Sebastion Marsh.
So the herders had to find them and regroup.
    Laptop Pictures-Misc 480.JPG

The San Felipe wash was his route, the land flows east to the Salton Sea.

We did a really hard track ,called La Salle pass. There was a big rock slide called Talus slope we got through and made it to the top at 10,400 ft. Camera was broke , no shots.
